PINS provides a diversion program for youth who have become involved with the law due to at risk behaviors or becoming arrested for minor crimes.

Offers high school students with disabilities attending Schenectady County school districts assistance in locating and participating in paid, community-based employment during the summer of their Junior year. Services include job coaching, learning job duties, policies and other expectations with employment in a work setting at businesses located through Schenectady County. Students must be enrolled in their high school's special education program.

Makes decisions on school curriculum, decisions regarding discipline, school closures and other educational issues which affect the teachers and students. Parents/guardians wanting to gain information about these matters can call the administration office.

Offers a wide range of community living opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. The choice of homes includes apartment programs designed for individuals seeking greater independence and privacy. Also available is Individual Residential Alternatives (IRA) offering 24-hour support to individuals seeking group living and personalized assistance. There is also At Home Residential Habilitation services for those who live with their families but may require or request personal assistance, training or guidance within their own home.

Provides employment support services to individuals with mental illness. This program is free and voluntary, and assists Ticket beneficiaries in finding employment and working towards financial independence.

Receives and investigates complaints from individuals who believe they have been discriminated against under New York State Human Rights Law.

Offers a full range of services and activities for adults and children including computer access, story programs for preschoolers, programs for seniors, and summer reading clubs for children and teens.

Operates Food Pantry

Operates a food pantry for residents of Northport and East Northport only. Call for appointment. The pantry is located on the lower level of the church. In addition to food, the Pantry provides a school-supply drive each summer/fall.

Support and enhance the ability of people, groups, and organizations who work with those with mental illness to promote recovery as part of the mental health service continuum of care and to assist them in the development of policies, programs, and quality assurance activities.

A free public elementary school offering grades Kindergarten to 6th grade for students living within the school district. Also offers free Physical and Occupational therapy, as well as ESL classes for enrolled students with need.

Provides counseling to students and parents to help with school-related issues.

The Schroon Summer Enrichment Program was developed to help those students with exceptional needs not necessarily met during the regular school year, or identified needs that can be met with continuing instruction.

Provides individuals with skills and strategies to develop self-empowerment, assists with goal setting, and provides local mentors. Also offers outreach services to families of program participants.

Provides shared ride, curb-to-curb reservation transportation service to Suffolk residents who are unable to use the fixed route public bus service for some or all of their trips. SCAT was designed to increase mobility for people who cannot use our fleet of transit buses, which are wheelchair-lift equipped to accommodate a wide range of disabilities. Eligibility for SCAT is determined using USDOT guidelines established for the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).

Services are designed to meet the needs and interests of older adults, including Homebound Delivery, Defensive Driving, Tax Preparation, Blood Pressure Screening and AARP.

Provides support for the prevention, investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases and human trafficking as part of a multi-disciplinary team of medical, legal, and police enforcement.

Prepares and collects property taxes for residents of the City of Albany from January through March 31st. After March 3st all paperwork goes to the Albany County Treasurer's Office.

Protects the public from criminal offenders by providing safe, secure and humane supervision and confinement. Houses individuals lawfully committed to the Department of Correction's custody in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards. Persons committed may be eligible for various programs, including, but not limited to, education, work, and substance abuse counseling.

Volunteers may participate in the following services: Adopt a community, reading stories office work, trips, recreational therapy, occupational therapy, planning special projects, and fund raising. Appointment required. Call for further information.

Programs offered by police personnel, that conducts inspections which offer guidance regarding child passenger safety seats and the law, choosing a car seat that is appropriate for a particular child's height and weight, correct car seat installation and restraining a child in a car seat. Certified personnel currently unavailable but will assist with setting car seat in vehicle.
