This home energy assistance program can help eligible Nassau County seniors access 100 gallons of fuel oil in an emergency. This assistance is offered only one time during a season. It helps to identify clients who need further case management or DSS assistance.

Treatment techniques include behavioral parent consultation, behavior therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy, mindfulness and acceptance commitment therapies, parent training programs and video-based parent training programs. The Parent Intervention and Consultation offers individual and/or group psychotherapy sessions to help parents overcome their own emotional challenges; improve the parent-child relationship; learn child management techniques; reduce the impact of stress associated with parenting and teach parent to help their child develop better emotion and behavior management strategies. Treatment techniques include behavioral parent consultation, behavior therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy, mindfulness and acceptance commitment therapies, parent training programs for child management and video-based parent training programs. Accepts license applications for individuals seeking to operate a Family-Type Home residence under the Foster Care Program for Adults. Family-Type Homes are operated by individuals within their own home, and are subject to inspection & oversight by DSS. Accepts/makes referrals for individuals interested in placement to a Family-Type Home. Family-Type Homes provide care for individuals who do not require medical or skilled nursing, but who may require room, board, and certain personal care services such as laundry and housekeeping.
