Provides swim instruction and recreational, competitive, and specialty aquatics programs for all ages and abilities, including parent-child classes, water exercise and therapy, water safety and rescue, and water sports.

Provides one-on-one or small group assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement of daily living skills that typically occur in one's home, socialization, housekeeping, communication, personal hygiene, grooming, budgeting and money skills, safety, self-improvement, problem resolution, etc.

Responsible for responding to the scene of an incident of death in order to perform preliminary investigation as to the cause and manner of death. Coroners are dispatched by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department. In certain instances, a case may be referred to the Monroe County Medical Examiner (ME) for comprehensive medicolegal death investigation services including autopsy and post-mortem toxicology. Coroners also play a role in developing the county’s mass casualty/fatality plan in preparation for catastrophic incidents which could be caused by natural, accidental, criminal, or infectious means.

Senior Citizen group with monthly activities such as seminars, field trips, exercise, craft, and cooking classes. A free goodie bag will be given to each senior monthly who signs up and receive a free hot take out meal on Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:30pm-5:30pm at the Gerard Place Community Center.

Investigates reports of suspected child abuse or neglect.

Program encourages families to play, learn, and develop social skills together in the indoor play room. When weather permits, children may use the center's outdoor play facility. Parents or guardians must accompany children at all times during visits. One day per week there is a structured playgroup for ages 18 months to 5 years.

Offers physical therapy and rehabilitation services including orthopedic therapy, balance and vestibular therapy, amputee care, wellness programs, and injury prevention. Also provides sports rehab, performance enhancement, and sports injury prevention.

Helps people ages 55 and older to find volunteer opportunities that match their skills and interests. Mileage reimbursement, supplemental insurance, and other benefits provided.

Camps run from late June through mid-August. Parents/guardians provide transportation, snacks and lunch. Activities include: nature exploration, hikes, crafts, games, songs, etc. Some sessions involve travel off-site.

Provides financial assistance for homeowners to make essential repairs to their homes, including essential handicapped accessibility work.

Provides one-on-one reading and ESL instruction to adults. Instruction provided by volunteer tutors who have been trained at a literacy volunteer tutor workshop. Instruction is provided in public location 2 hours/week at a time convenient to student and tutor.

Provides the following services for children and adults with developmental disabilities:

• Crisis Intervention
• Parenting Skills Training for parents of children with developmental disabilities, ages birth to 21 years
• Respite (Day/Evening) for children/youth under 21
• Saturday Life Skills Program for children with developmental disabilities and their families; 10 week program held 4 times a year
• Adult Day Habilitation Programs: specialized community-based programming for adults with developmental disabilities
• Vocational and Employment Services offers support for individuals with developmental and other disabilities and delays who are seeking employment including pre-vocational training and supported employment
• Behavioral Health Services provides short-term interventions for children and young adults struggling with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges
• Feeding Clinic for children from birth to age 12 with feeding and mealtime concerns

Provides audiometric evaluations and hearing aid dispensing and training.

Pre and post-diversion program for youth arrested for or accused of harm in Tonawanda. Diverts youth away from Family Court in the Town of Tonawanda, both before and after arrest. Youth are given the option of a Restorative Conference, where the responsible youth and their support people meet with those they’ve harmed and community members to discuss the impact of the crime and what might repair the harm. If the youth fulfill their Conferencing Agreement, their charges are dropped.

Provides free breakfast and lunch for any kids and teens ages 18 and under (and young adults with disabilities under 21).
