A resource for parents of children with disabilities in the Hudson Valley region, providing educational materials, training, workshops, and individual consultation regarding the special education process. Families can access information by phone, on-line, and face-to-face.

Designed to promote personal choice and expression, community inclusion and attainment of individually identified life goals and aspirations. Services focus on interests and strengths of each individual, skill development, life skills and community routines, basic safety skills, personal and health care, money for management, travel training and career and work exploration through volunteering. Some of these programs include: Independent Living, Community Day Habilitation and the ECHO program, the Brushstrokes program, and Program Without Walls.

Senior Benefits Information Centers (SBICs) help adults 60 and older, and those caring for the elderly, achieve a better understanding of Medicare health plans and prescription drug coverage (Part D prescription drug coverage, Medicare Advantage, Medic-Gap). Information and counseling is provided about different types of government programs, including federal and state financial assistance programs, and county-wide benefits. You can meet one-on-one with a trained counselor at one of our library-based locations. Spanish interpreter can be made available by appointment.

SDMC coordinates hearings for non-emergency medical and dental treatment for mentally and developmentally disabled residents who reside in state funded facilities

An early intervention program targeting 12 to 19 year-olds who display the early stages of alcohol or Substance use problems (e.g., using or possessing drugs during school) but do not use these substances daily or demonstrate substance Use Disorder. Integrating stages of change theory, motivational enhancement, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, this intervention aims to help teens reduce and ultimately eliminate their alcohol and other substance use.

Offers an Information and referral service for pregnant and parenting women of Nassau County. The Network links women and their families to essential health and human services such as Prenatal Care and Day Care, regardless of citizenship or lack of insurance.
