Offers clinical, operational or administrative volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of 50 hours over a period of three months, whether as a learning opportunity for students or merely as a way of giving back to one's community. Clinical assignments in our residential and community-based programs may include participation in our recreational program, agency-sponsored events and leisure and relaxation therapy. Volunteers also provide one-to-one attention to our program participants, such as reading a book, taking a person for a walk, or simply serving as a "big brother or big sister." A volunteer is selected on the basis of individual interest, skill, and experience.

The main goal of this program is to increase independence while providing support to the person and the family. People are encouraged to strive to live independently in the community with minimal staff support.

Provides Reference, Information and Referral, Reader's Advisory and Live Librarian. Programs and services include E-books, Defensive Driving, and arts and crafts.

Offers recreational, therapeutic, and social activities, including trips and outings, morning snack, and lunch for Russian senior citizens. Call for further information.

The Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance is run entirely by volunteers, so volunteer opportunities are continuously available.

Offers programs and services to help criminal justice-involved individuals prepare to enter and re-enter today’s workforce. Through the Employment Center programs and services, such as Job Search & Placement Assistance, Employment Counseling, and eligibility-based Training & Educational Opportunities are provided, Fresh Start is specifically designed to identify barriers faced by the ex-offender and offers guidance, techniques and proven strategies to create a path back into the workforce and successful career advancement. Food distribution to anyone.

Provides alcohol and drug treatment through a holistic approach that incorporates emotional, spiritual and physical treatment, including how to reduce stress, deal with anger, and relapse prevention. Also offers these services to those who speak Spanish.

Legal Services of the Hudson Valley provides walk-in service at any of the offices. If you have a warrant of eviction from a marshal or a sheriff, have been denied emergency food stamps by the local Department of Social Services, or have a notice of utility cut-off, you may you may walk into any of the offices.

Promotes the beautification and planting of trees in community. Provides Garden Therapy to adult centers. Assists with landscaping work for Habitat for Humanity. Monthly meetings at different sites feature speakers on various topics such as composting, ecology, flower arranging, etc. Offers garden tours(June) and fundraiser(December) on alternating years. Astor works with families who are at risk of having a child with an out-of-home placement. The program helps the family through supportive and advocacy services, create a structured family plan, and link to other needed services.

Offers a Social Skills Youth Camp for ages 4-12 focusing on friendships and relationships, building social skills, making healthy decisions, peer pressure, educational and fun field trips and creative workshops. The Life Skills Teen Camp for ages 13 and older focuses on the areas of substance abuse and violence prevention. prevention focused lessons, team building activities and discussion groups.
