Provides comprehensive services for patients diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease or movement disorders including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, Parkinson's wellness recovery and a Parkinson's support group, which meets the 3rd Friday of each month from 2pm-3pm.

CAIR offers free walk-in or phone support to those facing problems such as food shortage, utility shutoff or potential loss of housing. Professionally trained staff and volunteers connect you to the appropriate program, government agency or other community resource.

Intermediate Care Facilities - Supervised homes which provided continuous support to develop and complete daily living tasks, enhance socialization skills, along with recreational activities. Individualized Residential Alternatives - Provides independent living housing with some supervision, and continues to enhance daily living and social skills, developing personal advocacy and initiating other community interaction.

Assists with completing ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program), ADAP Plus, Home Care, APIC and other health insurance applications; and evaluates current health care plans to ensure HIV+ people and the general community are in the plan that best fits their needs. Outreach Specialists will assist in finding comprehensive health insurance which includes medical and prescription coverage.

Provides a family living situation for adults who need supervision and care. Caring people open their homes to adults that are mentally or physically impaired who do not require the skilled care of a nursing facility. A request to become a Family-Type Homes for Adults operator or to refer an interested adult may be made directly to the Office of Adult Services.

Offers a one-year program designed to prepare the student for non technician careers in the automotive industry. This program prepares the student for positions in automotive sales, leasing, finance, marketing, parts, service, management and customer service. The courses of study cover business, management and marketing courses as needed to become a well-rounded graduate prepared for the automotive business sector. This program is designed for a student with automotive experience and/or prior automotive education with the goal of enriching their automotive career path and improving job outlook. All students applying to the Automotive Business certificate program will be required to attend a mandatory automotive program information session. This program is offered both part-time and full-time and admission is competitive. Students in the Automotive Business Certificate program will be required to have a valid driver’s license; violations resulting in points on a driver’s license abstract may impact a student’s ability to complete program cooperative course requirements. Volunteers are needed to do a variety of things, from brushing cats and dogs to assisting in the training programs. Time commitments can range from a few hours a week to as much time as volunteer wants to give. Provides free child care resources and referrals to parents or guardians who need child care, an overview of available options, consumer education, information on financial assistance, and resource development and recruitment. Parent Services works with numerous community based organizations agencies, service providers, school districts, institutions of higher learning and the private sector to identify, collaborate, advocate and secure needed services for parents/caregivers. The department maintains a comprehensive NACCRRAware provider database for child care resource and referrals. Parent Services Department's Director is also oversees and coordinates the Legally Exempt Enrollment Program, which is responsible for all legally exempt enrollments.Families in need of child care can access Council's services for free by telephone, through the internet at Council's website, email, mail and fax or in person for child care options that best meet the family needs. Low income parents are given information about eligibility for child care subsidy through the Nassau County Department of Social Services (NC DSS) as well as information from the continously updated child care provider database regarding sliding scales, scholarships and multi-child discounts at various child care facilities. Each parent that calls the Council is offered information on Early Intervention services and/or the Early Childhood Direction Center for children with special needs, current financial information including Earned Income Tax Credits, Child & Dependent Care Credits, and Child Health Plus as well as referrals to assist them re:many other issues concerning the family (ex. legal, domestic violence, mental health, child abuse, etc.).Staff presents "Finding Child Care" workshops and/or sets up informational tables (where a parent counselor ins available to do on-site intakes) at various community fairs, libraries, meetings, conferences and community events.
