Our residents usually range in age from 65 to 90+, are physically and mentally well, can manage their own personal hygiene, and can communicate their wants and needs. We do not have nursing care, but we do have personal attendants to help our residents live fully involved lives. We provide a private bedroom which you can decorate to your personal taste, and a private bath. As you might expect from our name, food has a special place here. You will find our home cooked meals and snacks delightfully social and very delicious.

Offers a community based Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention program focused on healthy lifestyles. This program is offered for free in English and Spanish for all ages. ESNY utilizes a variety of hands-on educational strategies to bring about wellness behavioral changes within the community. All of our programs are interactive, focusing on creating healthy eating and physical activity habits. We also work with agencies to create healthy environments that focus on policy and systems change. Our educators provide programs throughout the community in food pantries, schools partner agencies, farmer's markets, laundromats, corner stores, libraries work sites, etc. Our 4 main areas of focus are "increase consumption of fruits and vegetables, increase physical activity, decrease consumption of sugary beverages, and learn how to budget, plan and save. We welcome agencies to contact us for our comprehensive programs that impact their staff and participants.

Serves as the liaison between County government and its large Hispanic population. Coordinates resources for the Hispanic community with the goal of educating, empowering and developing integration initiatives that will foster greater participation in Nassau County's social, economic, and civic life. Works with the County Executive's Office and other County agencies on the research, analysis, and implementation of policy to ensure that the Hispanic community is afforded equal opportunities, meaningful engagement, and access to Nassau County government. Offers a residential education and treatment center for youth who have been abused, neglected or in other dangerous situations at home. The emphasis is on the development of a therapeutic, mentoring and normalizing culture. Many of the youth are placed in foster homes, but helping the child maintain connections with their family, and building new ones with the foster family are emphasized.
