Holds summer programs at neighborhood recreation centers for grades K-6. Holds a half-day playground program for preschoolers on Tuesday and Thursday or Mon, Wed, Fri. Holds a recreation day camp for ages 7-12 and a counselor-in-training program. Call for place, time, and fees. Fall programs for adults and children include LEAP after school program, programs for 3 and 4 year olds, after school recreation (arts and crafts, physical fitness, story times, consumer education, sports programs and pools). Buildings rented out for parties--fees vary. Provides a wide variety of cultural programs for children and adults, including crafts, music instruction, Kid in Nature, Children's Theater Workshops, dance programs, Americana Fair, Summer Concert Series, Creative Writing Workshop, Atlantique Beach Camps, trips, fairs, Snapper Derby, fairs, festivals, specialty camps, special events and sunset cruises.

The Cancer Services Program offers free breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, Pap tests, and colorectal cancer screening kits to men (50+) and women (40+), who do not have health insurance.

Preparation of pre-sentence investigations and reports for criminal courts and the supervision of adults sentenced to probation, including specialized supervision of sex offenders, DWIs, and youthful offenders.

TPTR supports the growth and development of parents and children as caring people who treat themselves, others, and the environment with respect and dignity through competency-based learning and mentorship. It is a strength-based program to help families incorporate new, positive and nurturing patterns into their homes while being affirmed and empowered by mentors, adults who were teen parents and have overcome obstacles. Parents and children generally focus on the same topic during a session. They may learn this content through separate activities which are geared to their developmental stages and interests.

Promotes the use of spoken language by children and adults with hearing loss. Members include parents of children with hearing loss, adults who are deaf or hard of hearing, educators, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and other professionals in fields related to hearing loss and deafness. Services include advocacy, information and referral, biennial convention, financial aid and scholarships, leadership programs for teens and college students, mentoring programs for adolescents, and publication of information on deafness and spoken language. Offers a bereavement support group for those who have suffered a loss of a loved one.

Actively involved in all phases of preparedness for natural and man made emergencies and disasters. Coordinates drills conducted with local fire departments, police departments and other emergency responding agencies. In time of an actual emergency the Department integrates activities of its own Divisions as well as those of local, state and federal agencies. As part of this Division, the Department maintains a Townwide Communications Center which, in the time of an emergency, is the "hub" of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In addition uses the Suffolk County Emergency Preparedness Registry which is a protected database containing information about individuals in Suffolk County with Special Needs. The information collected will be used for disaster planning and public health purposes by Suffolk County. The Registry is designed as a means to efficiently contact individuals with special needs, reduce duplication of effort and help individuals get assistance during a disaster. Board of Elections registers voters, trains and recruits election inspectors, tabulates and certifies election results, and provides open access to all voting and election results.

Offers information, referral and outreach to help prevent premature births, birth defects, and other pregnancy problems.

Offers an outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program for individuals who need access to treatment, but do not require the intensity of an inpatient program or 24-hour hospital care. Participants attend the program on a regular basis, depending on their individual needs.

Offers a specialized telephone and online service that provides information about mental health resources and referrals to community members, professionals, consumers and agencies. Professional standards of confidentiality are followed for every caller.

EISEP (Expanded In Home services for the Elderly Program) provides non-medical in-home services to elderly persons who have one or more disabling conditions which prevent them from performing activities of daily living. Services provided include case management, homemaker-personal care, housekeeper/chore, non-institutional respite, and ancillary services.

Offers a variety of adaptive sports programs including; Handcycling, Yoga, Tai Chi, water/alpine skiing, adaptive climbing, golf clinic, wheelchair table tennis and other activities.

Provides first aid and CPR courses, including certification if needed.

A federally funded, seasonal program which helps low income families, seniors and individuals with a permanent disability, with the following benefits: Regular HEAP helps with financial assistance for the payment of the primary fuel source, Emergency HEAP helps low income families or individuals who are facing a heat or heat-related energy emergency and do not have resources to resolve the situation. Furnace Repair/Replacement HEAP helps low income homeowners repair or replace furnaces, boilers and other direct heating components necessary to keep the home primary heating source functional.

Offers 3 specialized summer day camps for county youth of various ages. Note that youth are limited to one session due to demand. Summer Day Program: A combination of nature study and survival skills. Children will explore forest habitats, hike, observe wildlife, learn skill of silent movement, awareness and hunting techniques.

Operates Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade classes.
