Offers SNAP (Food Stamps) program for qualified applicants.

Democratically run supportive living for persons in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. Use of drugs or alcohol, disruptive behavior, and non-payment of rent are causes for dismissal from the house.

Provides children with access to high quality primary medical care. Currently accepting new patients and most insurances are accepted. Each practice is staffed by a team of highly qualified physicians and nurse practitioners. All physicians are faculty members at the University at Buffalo. Also participating in patient care are pediatric residents and medical students. Pediatrician available 24 hours for sick calls. Social worker and GYN services also available.

Provides Individual Residential Alternative (IRA) for developmentally disabled persons. Transportation available.

Provides services for adults and children with a mental health diagnosis and/or chronic medical conditions, including linkage to needed resources and coordination of services to assist clients with reaching their goals.

A decision-making committee to determine eligibility and the appropriate level of services for preschool children aged 3-5. The CPSE is a multidisciplinary team established to conduct meetings to develop, review, or revise the Individual Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability. The parent or legal guardian is included as a member of the committee.

Offers intensive outpatient treatment to people experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms that impair functioning at home and/or at work. This level of care is designed to stabilize acute symptoms with the intention of avoiding hospitalization, or to reduce the length of a hospital stay. Intensive group-based acute psychiatric stabilization program is designed as an alternative to inpatient psychiatric admission. This program is mainly group and individual therapy with access to a therapist, psychiatrist, RN and support staff. The average length of stay is two weeks. Also offers a weekly family group providing support and education regarding how family members can support their loved one while they are in PHP and post completion of the program; lunch is provided.

Offers programs designed to help individuals achieve healthier lifestyles, including fitness/exercise, nutrition counseling, stress management, spiritual health, smoking cessation, and self-help. Monthly special events focus on variety of health issues. Must have a diagnosis of a mental illness to be eligible for services. Tours for prospective members offered on Wednesday afternoons.

A friendship program which matches volunteers from the community with persons who are receiving treatment for mental health. Once a match is established, the volunteer sends in monthly updates detailing time spent with the client along with any concerns about the relationship. Volunteers must commit four hours a month for one year.

Provides one month's utility payment to avoid shut-off.

Support group for multiple sclerosis patients.

Provides services including abortion, birth control (including IUDs and implants), emergency contraception (morning after pill), gender affirming care, HIV care (testing, PrEP), mental health services (aniety, depression, substance use, and unhealthy relationship support and referrals), pregnancy testing and options counseling, prenatal and postpartum (miscarriage care and support), STI testing and treatment, sexual and reproductive concerns (infections and irritations), vaccines (Hep B and HPV), and wellness and preventative care (cancer screenings including pap tests, breast exams, and mammogram referrals, primary care screenings, menopause treatment, and smoking cessation) Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY) protects and supports every person’s right to make voluntary, informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health in order to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. Planned Parenthood health centers support and welcome patients of all gender identities and sexual orientations, and offer care regardless of citizenship status.

Provides a safe, serene place where children, teens, and adults navigating the complexity of loss can connect through peer support groups, as well as partake in therapeutic and social activities. Offers peer support groups for mothers, fathers, and parents who have lost a child, including an adult child. Also offers a group for adults who have lost a parent. Offers peer group workshop series for adults who have lost a spouse, a loved one to substance misuse, a loved one to suicide, and those who have experienced a traumatic loss. Also promotes grief literacy and sensitivity in homes, schools and workplaces.

Provides peer-supported apartments located in Buffalo and surrounding areas that accommodate individuals who are able to manage their substance use disorder with less intensive supports. Staff are on call 24 hours a day and meet with residents weekly. Linkage is provided for outpatient treatment, educational, and vocational services. Select beds are also available for children school age or younger who will reside with their parent. Program employs client-centered cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies, along with motivational interviewing to help residents learn to cope with life experiences without relying on substance use. Utilizes trauma-informed care practices that seek to address each individual's past history or trauma and its effect on their lives.

Member of the WNY Holiday Partnership. Provides toys and gifts to parents and guardians to give their kids for the winter holidays. Gifts are pre-bagged.
