Additionally, students have the option of riding along with Police Officers from their local precinct for a tour of duty and attending a demonstration at the Police Firearms Range and our experiencing training at our Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (E.V.O.C.). This project can also assist low-income individuals who have been released from general prison within the last year on matters related to housing evictions, public benefits, and consumer debt. The second practice area is the Human Rights Project LGBTQ+ which provides legal services to low-income Nassau and Suffolk County residents in the LGBTQ+ community impacted by their transgender non-conforming or non-binary status in the areas of: name and sex designation changes, housing discrimination based on their LGBTQ+ status, employment discrimination based on their LGBTQ+ status, and public benefit denials.
