The Incorporated Village of Hempstead’s Fire Department provides fire protection and fire extinguishing services, initiating life rescue, rendering emergency medical assistance, controlling hazardous material situation including weapons of mass destruction incidents and providing related emergency services.

Offers computer classes for local residents, of all ages, in addition has voice activated software for those individuals who may have physical limitations to reach or work the keyboard, and also the library is equipped with wireless connection.

Offers home purchasing, refinancing, and foreclosure counseling.

The volunteer program supports the work of the foundation which grants the wishes of children age 2 1/2 to 18 years, who have been diagnosed with a life threatening medical condition.

Food outreach service who provides food delivery to those individuals unable to access local food pantries due to chronic illness, disability or other circumstances *PLEASE NOTE: A case manager from Social Services or other professional will need to authorize the request for food delivery.

The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) gives food assistance to low-income households with food loss or damage caused by a natural disaster.

Medical detox unit with 24-hour nursing care, psychiatric services, a personalized treatment plan, and continuing care planning. Clients receive physical and mental health assessments, individual and group counseling, and are offered pharmacological solutions to help meet detox needs as well as complementary therapies to help ease and decrease withdrawal symptoms.
