Emphasis is placed on learning to take responsibility for one's behavior and learning to control violent impulses. Clients are given information on counseling services available to them and their families.

A new car seat is provided by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, after Putnam CAP’s assessment of the family’s financial need. Seat will be professionally installed by the Sheriff’s Department.

This program is a psycho-educational 26 week course for men who batter. They are taught what the cycle of violence is, the impact on the family, and are helped to identify non-violent alternatives to their abusive behavior. Domestic Abuse Awareness Classes for Men (DAAC) accepts referrals for service from the courts, the Department of Social Services, substance abuse treatment programs and other counseling agencies.

Services and programs to support people living with AIDS/HIV, their families and their caregivers. Offers counseling, weekly grocery deliveries, food pantry, housing referrals, support groups, pastoral care in all faiths, buddy program matches volunteer with someone living with AIDS/HIV, hospital visits, transportation to and from medical appointments and relevant support group meetings, limited financial assistance available for emergency situations.

Offers a wide range of licensing, records, and informational services to town residents. Licensing and permits include marriage licenses, hunting/fishing/trapping licenses, disabled parking permits, dog licenses, block party permits, peddler/solicitor licenses, and racing/wagering licenses.

The Yonkers Department of Housing and Buildings (DHB) is responsible for safeguarding the health, safety and welfare of Yonkers residents, business and property owners in the area of housing and building code enforcement. We issue building permits and certificates of occupancy, conduct inspections and investigate complaints regarding housing and building construction.
