New York State Licensed Clinical Psychiatric Social Workers provide services to runaway and homeless youth, and those involved in the juvenile justice system who are 12 to 24 years old, without cost, for residents in Brookhaven Township. The program also provides training in independent living skills for youth 16 to 24 who are considered homeless. Services provided through the Sanctuary Program include: counseling, advocacy, short term emergency housing, homeless project, family mediation, information and referral, employment and college preparation.

Children Aged 8-21 Integrated setting for Neurodivergent/Neurotypical

Offers programs to students ages 11 – 12 in grades 6th – 8th. The Middle School Level Programs include: The Center-Based Functional Academic Skills Program. The Functional Academic Skills Program at Premm Learning Center services students with moderate to severe development disabilities. The primary goal of the program is to maximize each student's potential and to teach skills that will enable them to become as independent as possible within the confines of their disability. Program components include academics with an emphasis on functional skill development, utilizing a modified Common Core Curriculum. Behavior management, independent living and social skills are also addressed. Functional assessments of behavior and behavior intervention plans are implemented for support when needed. The 12:1:4 Program at Premm Learning Center emphasizes a multi-sensory approach to learning. Emphasis is placed on improving cognition, sensory motor skills development and use of adaptive equipment to aid movement and independence. Students placed in the 12:1:4 class component are non-ambulatory and are dependent upon staff for meeting their needs throughout the school day. Classroom instruction is provided with hand over hand assistance. Related services of speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy are provided on a group push-in basis. All students are assessed using the New York State Alternate Assessment. Programs are offered at various locations.

Programs and services for families and children from birth to grade 12. Activities include play and story times, crafts, performances, book discussions and extensive summer programming. For middle and high school students, special programs and numerous opportunities for volunteering are offered.

The Middle School Mingle was created by one of our Girl Scout Gold Award winners, Nia Mack, offering middle school students an opportunity to socialize in a safe space. Students will have an opportunity to partake with jumbo games like Uno, Jenga, Connect Four and so much more. Students will reveive a snack and a beverage. A $1 donation will be requested to go toward a coordinated event by the middle schoolers that attend our mingle.

Provides opportunities for people of all ages and walks of life to assist the staff throughout the hospital, nursing home, and off-site outpatient programs, patient areas and behind the scenes. Volunteer opportunities consist of services to augment the staff, circulating books and magazines, office work, and helping in the gift shop and front desk.

Dedicated court part that seeks to craft a meaningful response to the problems posed by defendants with mental illness in the criminal justice system. Judicial monitoring is provided to assure that the court mandated treatment plan is followed by the client, and mental health case management is used to link clients to treatment programs and related services as an alternative to incarceration.
