With this certificate you will learn technical writing skills that will make you more employable, such as social media strategy, writing for web applications, journalism, and more. You may pursue the Technical Writing Certificate either as a standalone 18-credit program or as an addition to any New York Tech degree, requiring only 15-credits beyond your core requirements. Administers enrollment of low income families using friends or family for child care in a DSS program that provides child care subsidies. Inspects legally exempt child providers to ensure they meet minimum health and safety requirements. Technical assistance is provided via phone, on-site or off-site.

Provides information and resources to drop-off household bulk items and appliances, and to advise what can be thrown out with household garbage, and what can not, and how to dispose of it.

Provides dog (and/or wildlife in some cases) control services for the Town of Claverack and Village of Philmont.

Investigates complaints or reports of alleged violation of town ordinances such as illegal apartments or group rentals. Operates independent investigations, and may bring cases to Justice Court when violations are found.

Provides support services to homebound seniors, frail elderly or those with disabilities, from the Town of Pound Ridge, to help make their lives safer. The R-U-OK program offers a daily computerized call to participants, to make sure they are doing okay. If there is not a response a police officer is sent to make sure everything is okay. The File for Life provides a magnetized container which holds medical information, placed on the refrigerator, in case of an emergency and is available to anyone responding to help that person. The Loan Closet provides donated medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, mobile toilets, canes, etc to seniors with limited finances. The Meals on Wheels program offers home delivered meals on a temporary basis.

Provides sentencing alternative through the use of community service for individuals with sentences of adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, conditional discharge or probation. Participants will be required to make reparation for their crimes through performance of community service. Project operations also include participant selection, worksite selection and oversight, court/probation notification activities, referrals to human services and management of accident/liability reports.
