Team of professionals that help individuals e.g., paramedics, police officers, disaster workers who have been involved in emergency operations under conditions of extreme stress or people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as workplace or school violence, recover from the traumatizing effects of the experience utilizing a therapeutic technique which enables them to process the event and put it behind them. A CISD enables workers to discuss what happened, their role in the event, the impact of the experience and skills for coping with the after-effects. A CISD will generally alleviate the acute stress responses which sometimes appear at the scene or immediately thereafter and will at least inhibit delayed stress reactions which can appear days, weeks or even months later.

Individuals are referred to a wide range of agencies who provide therapy, shelter care, legal, and financial information and assistance.

Office for the Aging offers the Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program (EISEP) that provides individuals with both case management and non-medical in-home services, such as meal preparation, and assistance with household chores and shopping. This program is available to those who are income eligible, and is designed to either delay or eliminate the need for nursing home or institutional long term care.

Offers a free telephone reassurance program for isolated or homebound seniors. The program provides human contact with a daily reassurance call, letting clients know that someone is there for them. Most of the volunteer callers are senior citizens themselves. Helpline volunteers reach out to homebound seniors with a friendly voice - asking how you're doing, answering questions, providing information about Town or County services or just lending an ear-from one person to another. The Kingsway Arms Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a one-story nursing home with 160 beds. Dementia care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy and IV therapy are provided as well as tracheotomy, colostomy, and gastronomy care and sub-acute rehabilitation. Air-conditioned. Hospice care, podiatry, dental, psychological and psychiatric services are available. Music therapy, pet therapy, therapeutic recreation. There is a beauty salon-barber shop on the premises.
