Offers a course for students to become a Phlebotomist by learning the skills necessary to effectively draw blood samples and comfort patients in the venipuncture process. Study anatomy and physiology while participating in clinical experiences using venous sticks. Obtain professional skills and meet with Employment Center counselors for job opportunities in area hospitals, clinical laboratories, or other health care facilities. Prevention of homelessness by providing help to secure temporary and permanent housing including immediate shelter in emergency situations.

SEIs allows children to receive help from a special education teacher in a natural setting, i.e., nursery school or home, implements child's IEP and collaborates with parents and other teachers to meet those goals. Call for further information.

The ADRC staff offers unconditional support and professional counseling services to individuals and their family members impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or related cognitive impairment.

SNAP benefits (formerly known as Food Stamps) supplement low income households in order to reduce hunger and malnutrition.

Serves students with disabilities from the component school districts. This program provides a self-contained learning environment with modifications as determined by the Committees on Special Education (i.e., 12-1-1 and 8-1-1). The Gary D. Bixhorn Technical Center, the Islip Career Center and Harry B. Ward Technical Center serve high school students who are 15.5 (15 years and 6 months) of age by September 1st until the age of 21. Special Career Education (SCE) creates opportunities for all students by providing them with the technical and academic skills needed to prepare for future employment and a successful path to college or other post-secondary programs. SCE provides technical training to prepare students for a successful career. The structured training gives students the tools needed to be successful in a job after high school and/or further post-secondary education. Each student is encouraged to explore various areas of study and to develop the essential skills to feel competent in entering today's competitive job market, while helping them to learn how to cope with their disabilities in the workplace. Provides support in the home and the community for children, adolescents, and adults whose emotional disabilities disrupt their capacity to function in educational, social vocational, and interpersonal areas. Support includes case management to identify needs, access, and monitor services in mental health, medicine, socialization, education, and financial entitlement. Transportation, respite, family support, and other services may be offered as well.
