Offers respite services for families who care for children or adults with developmental disabilities.

Offers three ESL programs for students who are non-native speakers of English and may require specialized English language instruction. The three ESL programs offer instruction in listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar to students for whom English is a second language. The ESL programs include both part-time and full-time developmental classes on a noncredit basis* and a third program which offers developmental classes on a credit** basis. The aim of all three programs is to provide limited English-proficient students with a functional knowledge of the English language. The programs furnish students with the necessary communication skills to secure gainful employment, perform more effectively in daily life situations, and enroll in further college-level courses, if they so desire. Students should be aware that all ESL courses, credit or non-credit, are considered developmental. Therefore, they do not fulfill any degree or certificate requirements. Community Programs team offers a broad array of services to immigrants to help them address many of the challenges they face as they adapt to their new lives in the United States. These services include: Citizenship classes to prepare students for the US Citizenship exam. Program is 10 weeks and is offered in both Nassau and Suffolk locations. Community Events: Offers a variety of events to address a wide range of topics relevant to civic and social life in the US. This includes accessing medical care professional skill building, financial literacy, and scholarship opportunities for immigrant youth. English Classes are offered free of charge to students 18+ who live in Nassau or Suffolk counties. Offers 6 different levels of difficulty. Workforce Workshops: Offers 32 workshops a year for all job seekers, including resume writing, interview techniques, workers' legal rights, essential workplace English. Social Work Services: Works hand in hand with other programs to provide immigrants with culturally competent mental health services, case management, and supportive community events. Community Fundraisers: Students rise fundraiser provides school supplies for immigrant children. Holiday Toy Drive collects items for all ages and allows parents to choose the right gift for their child.

Because of its airport location, it is the only historic aircraft collection in the region that can regularly return to air, demonstrating the power and stunning beauty of aircraft designed for war.

A before and after school enrichment program offering language arts, science, math, creative writing, drama, sports, stories, woodworking, arts and crafts, computers, homework assistance, vocation programs, field trips, ice skating, and special programs. In the Family Development program, volunteer mentors are matched with families in crisis to provide support, resources and training. They are trained to help families recognize their strengths, the opportunities available to them, and to set goals that pave the way toward self-reliance. Mentors have up-to-date information and resources regarding employment, child care, and health insurance, transportation, food stamps and housing.

Guests are served a nutritious, home-cooked meal, which includes soup, salad, fruit cup, hot entree, vegetables, dessert, bread and beverages. Hot meals are served to-go. Take-home bags are also provided, which include a sandwich, fruit and a sweet.

Administers a variety of programs to promote affordable housing and community development statewide.

Assists in the identification of students in need of augmentative communication intervention services. They will conduct comprehensive augmentative communication evaluations on students presenting with severe communication impairments, provide consultation/support services for all staff working with students who utilize augmentative communication aids, techniques and strategies and conduct individual and/or small group trainings related to the use of specific augmentative communication aids, technique and strategies. The Assistive program evaluates a student's ability to access the curriculum depending on his/her disability. Evaluators collaborate with the educational team to identify software programs and/or adaptive equipment to enable the student to access the curriculum as independently as possible. They will provide training/consultations to students, staff and family in the use and implementations of the recommended adaptive equipment and/or software. Also equipment orders are placed for the component school districts upon request.

Provides full day outdoor programs of hiking and wilderness challenges for at risk adolescents. Groups travel by van to State and County Parks. Call for further information.

Provides skilled nursing care, home health aides, personal care aides and homemaker services to the sick, frail, elderly or anyone in need of home health care and/or companion services in the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island and the County of Westchester. This includes, but is not limited to Hospice, EISEP clients, Mental Health and AIDS patients.
