Reviews plans for critical infrastructure in Nassau County. The Bureau ensures that best engineering practices and principles are used and maintained for the protection of the residents within the county from the effects of adverse environmental factors, protection of the environment from potentially harmful effects of natural and human activities, and improvement of environmental quality. Provides education and clinical services for children with disabilities ages 3-5. Clinical services include speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology and social work.

Serves Nursery-8th grade

We offer IEP-based speech and language services including evaluations, individual and group therapy and consultation with treatment team members and family. Evaluations include full Augmentative Alternative Communication Evaluations to secure speech generating devices. We serve adult participants though our Article 16 Clinic. Speech-language services are designed to optimize an individuals, ability to communicate and swallow, theropy improving quality of life. SLPs develop and implement treatment to address the presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication problem or related functional issue, Our most common targets are receptive language, expressive language (verbal, SGD, PECS or sign) and pragmatic language skills. The ultimate goal of therapy is to improve and individual's functional outcomes. All services are provided NYS licensed speech-language pathologists who hold certification by the American Speech-Language hearing association.

A certified juvenile non-secure detention facility for girls and boys 10 through 18, remanded by Family Courts or placed by a Peace Officer. Provides care, supervision, educational and social services for Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS) and Juvenile Delinquents.

Provides general counseling and other psychiatric care services for individuals and families.

Develops entry-level skills for managerial positions and careers in the hospitality industry. Students acquire the knowledge and competencies required for working as managers in eating, lodging, travel, recreation, and gaming establishments. Full-time students can complete the program in two semesters thereby accelerating entry into employment situations. The program is appropriate for people who already hold post-secondary degrees, for those who are currently employed in the industry and who would benefit from some specialized training and for those who are interested in acquiring hospitality-related managerial skills but who are not interested in pursuing an academic degree in the field. Offers a set of home and community based Medicaid State Plan services: Other Licensed Practitioner (OPL), Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), aimed at supporting the social, emotional or behavioral health of Suffolk County youth, ages 5 through 21 and their families/caregivers. Other Licensed Practitioner (OPL) provides therapeutic services to youth by a licensed mental health professional. Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) offers client and family support in improving daily living, personal and community relationships. Psychological Rehabilitation (PSR) provides "hands on" assistance and practice of skills acquired through therapeutic or CPST services. Services can be individually accessed or used jointly.
