Our Self-Advocacy program enhances students and ACCES-VR participants’ awareness of the employment needs. It enables them to describe their challenges, identify strengths and weaknesses, identify any accommodations needed and how to be a competent self-advocate relating to preparing for, entering into, engaging in, retaining or advancing in employment.

Dental hygiene clinic serving the public. Appointments are provided by dental hygiene students and supervised by faculty; sessions are approximately 3 hours in length to accommodate teaching. One or more appointments may be required and will include a combination of services. Treatment is provided based on the individual needs of the patient and will be determined during the initial exam. Free available services include:

• Dental cleaning (prophylaxis)
• Advanced deep scaling and root planing
• Dental x-rays
• Intra/extra-oral exam cancer screening
• Nutritional and tobacco cessation counseling
• Home care instructions of gums and teeth
• Polishing to remove stains
• Fluoride treatments (various)
• Sealants
• Recommendations and referrals for outside follow up care
• Anesthetic is available for sensitive patients

Public Health Sanitarians inspect for health hazards and advise on preventive measures to maintain a healthy environment. Environmental health services include inspection of residential sites, schools, restaurants and other businesses involved with food, children's camps, swimming pools, beaches, septic systems, hotels/motels, rooming houses, campsites, mobile home parks, day care centers, and tattoo parlors. An enrichment, leadership, and relationship-building program for parents, children, and families affected by incarceration in Western New York. Offers family recreational activities; support groups and after school programs for children/youth who have a currently or formerly incarcerated parent; service linkage; free Video Visiting allowing children and family members to visit with incarcerated people by video from Osborne's Buffalo site to eight New York State prisons; coordination for mentorship, and technical assistance for organizations that serve families affected by incarceration. ##REENTRY##
