We work to support birds and preserve local wildlife and their habitats on our unique and biodiverse North Fork, and beyond. We also host educational programs and hikes for adults, families and kids onsite, as well as at other locations.

Offers short-term inpatient care for individuals requiring continued care after a hospitalization, including extensive rehabilitation therapy for cardiac patients, stroke, pulmonary, neurological impairments, hip or knee replacement, etc.

ACT teams offer intensive case management and support for people with severe and continuing mental health problems e.g., people who may have been hospitalized often, and who need help taking medication or following a prescription, finding a place to live or using work and other support services. ACT team members often meet with the client every day in the person's community e.g., in the person's home or in a coffee shop.

Provides day habilitation services which include enhancement of daily living activities, money management, socialization, work ethics, language and communication development, and behavioral therapy.

Provides services for mentally ill and intellectually and/or developmentally disabled adults on a long term basis. Services include psychiatry, group/individual therapy, nursing and recreation.

Offers a non-credit Pharmacy Technician program. This program provides enrollee’s with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain employment in pharmacies under the supervision of registered pharmacists or licensed pharmacy technicians. Provides seniors with a variety of recreational social and fitness programs.

Legal problems handled involve basic needs such as housing, health care, food and income. Focus is on entitlement programs such as public assistance, Medicaid, food stamps and SSI as well as on housing problems involving evictions, foreclosure and poor housing conditions. Specialized units include Mental Health Law Project, SSI/Disability Advocacy Project, Domestic Violence Project, Pro-Bono Project, HIV Advocacy, disability discrimination, adult home advocacy, veterans. senior citizens, and homecare advocacy.

Educational program that attempts to discourage adolescents and adults from driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs that have an impact on their reflexes or judgement. The objective of the program is to reduce the incidence of accidents caused by drinking/drug impaired drivers.

Provides 24 hour supervision at local community sites for adults with mental illness. Services provided at each site are restorative services, symptom management, community living skills, information and referral, crisis management, medication education and monitoring, and community integration. Staff provides supportive assistance and instruction in daily living skills and use of community resources. There are ten residences located in Nassau and Suffolk County. Transportation provided to local day treatment services.

The Bee-Line ParaTransit system offers a curb-to-curb transportation system for Westchester residents who, because of physical, developmental or sensory disabilities, are unable to use public transportation.

Offers a variety of social and recreational activities geared for those who have suffered a stroke or have physical disabilities. Activities include games, discussions, creative activities, holiday activities, picnics, group speech therapy or individual computer programs to improve language skills, seated physical exercise, guest speakers, field trips, dance and musical events. NOTE: Participants need to bring their own lunch, but snacks and beverages are provided.

Provides representation to indigent clients charged with misdemeanors in Nassau County District Court, providing the entire range of legal representation, from initial interview to sentencing. Courtroom advocacy includes: arraignments, bail arguments, bench conferences, evidentiary hearings, oral arguments on motions, bench and jury trials, plea dispositions, and sentencings.
