Offers a variety of housing options, including Individual Residential Alternatives (IRAs), group-style IRAs with 24-hour on-site staff support, apartment-style IRAs in either supported or supervised settings, emergency and transitional housing for those who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless, independent apartments, and affordable housing.

Serves as a City of Buffalo Cooling Center during times of extreme heat and as a Warming Center when the temperature is 15 degrees or below. Always call ahead to make sure a Cooling Center is open before going there.

A "one-stop-shop" for children and their families in the aftermath of child abuse. Serves as a home-base for multidisciplinary team members to come together in one place for the benefit of the child. The JFCAC staff and multidisciplinary team consists of compassionate, highly-skilled professionals in the fields of law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, medicine, mental health, victim advocacy, and forensic interviewing. All services provided to children and their caregivers at the JFCAC are offered on-site and free of charge. Services include monitoring, advocacy, and linkage to other services through weekly contacts with the client. Care Management services are available for adults and children. In addition to the above services, Care Managers may also provide funds for emergency care and needs.

Provides secure, recovery oriented living environments for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Committed to assisting clientele to live meaningful, productive lives by providing flexible supports in a person-centered atmosphere. Residents of all programs learn the skills necessary to live independently. Treatment apartments are certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health and provide consumers with the highest level of independence. Staff make routine visits and are available 24 hours a day in case of an emergency.

Self help group for anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, stress, fears of any kind, or anger that is getting in the way of social, work, and home life. Other interested persons are welcome to attend as observers. Group meets weekly.

Assesses the needs and capabilities of children who have been relinquished for adoption, compiles the children's social and medical histories, makes arrangements for care and supervision of the children prior to placement, evaluates prospective adoptive applicants including a review of adoptive home studies, if available, and selects and approves prospective adoptive homes. Also identifies and enlists individuals and couples who are willing to provide permanent homes and new legal parentage for children who have been relinquished for adoption, particularly for children who have special needs. Responsible for training, certifying, and monitoring placements in family homes and for providing support for the family and the adopted individual(s) who live with them. Links individuals who are in need of alternative living arrangements with appropriate private family homes that are licensed to provide foster care. Identifies and enlists people who are willing to provide foster care for dependent children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment and need an alternative family living arrangement, or for children and adults with developmental disabilities, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, emotional problems, or multiple disabilities who are unable to live with their birth families or in an independent setting.

Provides frozen meals available via pickup from participating senior center locations throughout Erie County. Seniors can choose between a 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10 meal pack that can be picked up once a week from participating locations. A roll, milk, and dessert are included with each meal.

Items include furniture, small and large appliances, building materials, hardware, tools, electrical materials and fixtures, plumbing fixtures and supplies, windows and doors, and more. Accepts donations of above items to be sold in the store; donations are tax deductible. Volunteer opportunities available for receiving, pricing, and stocking donations, assisting customers on the sale floor and at the register, and also to do merchandising and run pick-up or deliveries.
