Then a training program is designed to ensure the apprentice masters the full spectrum of job functions, attains the knowledge necessary to exercise independent judgement, and subscribes to the highest standards of professional conduct. To become an apprentice, you must be 18 years old, or 16 years old with parental approval. The length of training varies from one to six years, depending on the occupation.
