Responsible for enforcing all laws and ordinances, preventing crime, investigating criminal activity, apprehending, arresting and detaining suspects, presenting evidence, regulating traffic, investigating traffic accidents and engaging in other activities that protect lives and property and preserve peace in the community. Also has forensics, harbor/marine units, canine teams, bomb squad and hostage negotiation.

Professionals from various disciplines whose primary focus is to investigate, intervene and prevent elder abuse and financial exploitation (age 60 and over). JFS coordinates the teams for Ulster.

Provides and distributes prepared meals, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, clothing and washkits to soup kitchens, and parish outreach programs throughout Long Island. Wash kits (soap, comb, razors) are made up and handed out on Wednesdays, and sandwiches and Bags to go served on Saturdays. Offers a support group for individuals who have ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's Disease, who share ideas and experiences on a variety of topics. NOTE: This program is affilitiated with the ALS Association of Dutchess County

MICHC will provide education, outreach, home visitation, referrals and follow-up to improve the general health and well-being of women and infants, with a focus on family planning and self-sufficiency. The program will engage women and link families to health and other supportive services in the targeted communities of Newburgh, Middletown and Port Jervis.

Acceptance and commitment therapy aims to free clients from the grip of emotional and/or physical pain, teaching them to live effectively with the difficult symptoms associated with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, panic and stress-related problems. Through its emphasis on values, behavioral commitment and acceptance, acceptance and commitment therapy prepares patients to be increasingly present in their lives and encourages them to commit to living in a rich and meaningful manner. Offers inpatient short or long term care/rehabilitation services for victims of stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), aneurysm, anoxia, encephalitis or any diffuse brain damage. Interdisciplinary medical team focuses on cognitive/physical/occupational/speech/recreational therapy. Works with families to orient resident back into community.

Offers peer services to Nassau County residents with mental health illnesses. Provides opportunities for participants to discuss recovery, relationships, school and work related issues and to problem solve with certified peers through Phone Link, Mobile Support and peer-run support groups. Provides peer respite temporary housing and support for individuals in crisis.

Provides Adult Day Habilitation to developmentally disabled individuals ages 21 and over who reside in Suffolk/Eastern Nassau with their families, or in agency-operated group homes.

Youth transitioning out of OCFS court ordered residential placement referred to FCA by OCFS to facilitate a positive transition back to their homes and communities.
