JumpStart for Dads is a FREE virtual program to support fathers and soon-to-be fathers that is supported by the White Plains Youth Bureau. 12 One-hour Weekly Virtual Group Meetings, Co-Facilitated by a pair of volunteer community fathers and grandfathers, Utilizes the evidence-based Fathering-in-15 curriculum from Fatherhood.org, Targeting “At-Risk” fathers and expectant fathers, but open to all, Incentives & certificates awarded at an in person “Celebratory Breakfast” at program completion. Offered in English and Spanish.

Guests are served a nutritious, home-cooked meal, which includes soup, salad, fruit cup, hot entree, vegetables, dessert, bread and beverages. Hot meals are served to-go. Take-home bags are also provided, which include a sandwich, fruit and a sweet.

Provides an inpatient and outpatient services for individuals struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. Services include inpatient and comprehensive outpatient treatment.

Offers recreational programs to Rosendale area youth under 21 years.

Pets Alive rescues and rehabilitates animals who have been victims of neglect or abuse by providing shelter. Donations accepted, volunteers needed. Adoptions are also offered.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a Federally funded program that assists eligible households in meeting their home energy needs. If eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit opened on November 1, 2024. The 2024-2025 First and Second Emergency is scheduled to open January 2, 2025. The 2024-2025 Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024. The 2024-2025 HEAP Clean and Tune benefit opened on October 1, 2024. The 2024-2025 Cooling Assistance Benefit is schedule to open on April 15, 2025.

This program provides both an early intervention and preschool program, which assesses the level of each child's abilities and prepare a program to build on their strengths. Class sizes range from 6-12 children, and offer half and full day sessions.

Provides 24 hour supervision in a residential home-like setting. Mental health restorative services are provided to all of the residents, including medication management, socialization, and symptom management.

Provides information, education and support for families and friends of people who have a mental illness. Meets the second Wednesday of each month.

Offers shelter placements and assistance with emergency housing needs through the Department of Social Services (DSS) under the auspices of the Nassau County Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD). Eligible individuals and families can, on an emergency, temporary basis be assisted with shelter and other items of need in order to meet their emergency. The goal is to provide families and individuals with the tools they need to secure a permanent, stable housing, and move as quickly as possible to a stable self-sufficient role in the community. In addition DSS offers assistance to a family or individual who is threatened with eviction or foreclosure, assistance may be available to save the current housing. These emergency programs are: Emergency Assistance to Adults; Emergency Assistance to Families and Emergency Safety Net Assistance. These programs were designed to meet one-time non-recurrent emergency situations. These benefits do have specific eligibility requirements, and each case receives the attention of a worker with specialized knowledge in this area. Applications for eligibility should be made at Department of Social Services as soon as the potential problem becomes known. Aids in tax form questions, how to fill out forms, tax booklet explanations, and other questions pertaining to what to do on tax forms.

Offered to families of young preschool children who are not ready for direct or intense one-on-one therapy. Provides speech therapy services to children ages 2-5 who stutter.

Offers field hockey camp for girls entering grades 2–12. Coaches will encourage player skill development and campers will receive instruction and the opportunity to practice in competitive games and drills. Learn with the enthusiasm and expertise of experienced Division 1 college coaches and players on state of the art facilities. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and, field hockey stick, mouth-guard, and sneakers. Campers must also bring a water bottle. Bathing suit and towel will be needed on assigned swim days. Call for detailed information.

Offers smoking cessation group, parent/pre-schooler verbal interaction program, as well as emergency food and clothing assistance. Enables students with disabilities and adults whose disabilities impose barriers to employment access to independence, work and economically productive lives. VESID oversees special education, provides consultation to students with disabilities transitioning from school to work, and offers counseling, guidance, job preparation and placement services to adults with disabilities. Offers supportive independent living apartments for individuals who have completed an alcohol or drug treatment program. The apartment is partially subsidized, and includes case management and supportive assistance to help recovering alcoholics and drug addicts obtain employment and self sufficiency.

Serves children ages 5-21 with a diagnosis of autism, intellectual disability, or multiple disabilities. Teaches language and communication skills, self-help and activities of daily living, and behavior management. Other services include crisis intervention for families and parent education, counseling and support.
