Licensed home health care is available on an hourly, daily or live-in basis to assist with personal care, activities of daily living, light housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation and laundry. Also provide services to guardians and estate trustees providers. Bilingual aides are available.

The office of the Town Clerk is the hub around which Town business revolves. The Town Clerk is the Records Management Officer of the Town. Custodian of all the records, the Clerk is responsible for active files, disposition of inactive records and protection of the archives. As Secretary to the Town Board, the Clerk is responsible for preparing and maintaining the minutes of Town Board meetings. Maintains a computerized annual assessment roll of town properties. Transfers ownership and assesses improvements of real property. Reviews applications for all real property tax exemptions.

Provides a home assessment to check energy efficiency, such as windows, light bulbs, shower heads, insulation, etc. Basic work is done by Westcop, but more difficult tasks are contracted out. Renters need to involve their landlord before the process begins because they may have to pay some costs.

Recruit volunteers during tax season January-April to assist customers in filing out the Federal and State Tax Return forms. Past experience is not necessary, but basic computer knowledge is helpful.

Provides community outreach services including a soup kitchen, clothing drives and compassionate visits to homes and assisted living facilities. New York State Licensed Clinical Psychiatric Social Workers provide services to runaway and homeless youth, and those involved in the juvenile justice system who are 12 to 24 years old, without cost, for residents in Brookhaven Township. The program also provides training in independent living skills for youth 16 to 24 who are considered homeless. Services provided through the Sanctuary Program include: counseling, advocacy, short term emergency housing, homeless project, family mediation, information and referral, employment and college preparation.
