Provides the necessary means for people with disabilities to participate and enjoy any activity or service offered by Orange County. Such as providing appropriate aids and services for effective communication, and modifications to policies and procedures to ensure that people with disabilities have an opportunity to enjoy all programs, services and activities.

Promotes participation in federal nutrition programs, especially the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Summer Food Service Program, through outreach and training. Program staff will prescreen individuals for potential SNAP and assist with the application process. Staff provides professional training sessions for human service workers on food assistance programs and will assist interested organizations in serving/sponsoring a summer food service site.

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. While some areas may be currently able to connect to the Lifeline by dialing 988, this dialing code will be available to everyone across the United States starting on July 16, 2022. When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary. The current Lifeline phone number (1-800-273-8255) will always remain available to people in emotional distress or suicidal crisis, even after 988 is launched nationally.

Provides a free public education for youth in grades Kindergarten through 5th.

Provides a residential treatment center for children with emotional, behavioral or mental difficulties. Treatment utilizes a multi-disciplinary team to build on a child's abilities and strengths, and empowers families to be active collaborators in treatment. There is an on-site learning center for children in the residential program where they receive intensive, individualized education in small classes for reading, language arts, social studies, science, math, health, and social skills, along with art, music, library, computer instruction, physical education, and other recreational and outdoor activities to help build new skills, self esteem, and confidence.

Provides information about Rabies and how to prevent an infection in both animals and people. Also offers rabies vaccination clinics in various locations throughout the county.

Survivor hotline is available to survivors, their families, and allies who need a sympathetic person to talk to-often when therapeutic services are unavailable. The hotline is answered by survivors of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Does not accept tips.

Provides books and other media on-loan, along with computer access to the internet and other software, book clubs and more.

Responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, investigating criminal activity, and engaging in other activities that protect lives and property and preserve peace in the community.

Vocational Assessment and Counseling services are designed to assist patient with returning to or maintaining an employment situation through the use of compensatory approaches that support management of the ongoing effects of their brain injury. Assessment may include completion of formal tests to identify areas of career interest as well as strengths and weaknesses to consider when exploring appropriate potential employment opportunities. Counseling interventions may entail problem solving or troubleshooting strategies and the development of specific compensatory techniques to support organization, accuracy and efficiency on job tasks. Other areas targeted may include communication skills development, approaches that may facilitate successful performance at work. Exploration of other available vocational services, such as through NYS VESID are also utilized.

Provides nutritional consultations and assessments for various conditions requiring weight loss or gain.

Provides Information and Referral, Reference Services, Readers Advisory and programs for children from birth through grade 6 as well as parents. Programs and services include, but are not limited to arts and crafts, storytimes, film presentations, music, hands-on science, and a Summer Reading Program.

Pediatric specialists, evaluate children with genetically defined, primary immune defects that lead to recurrent serious infection in childhood and adolescents. For these patients, bone marrow transplant or gene therapy, where appropriate, are used for immune reconstitution.

Offers Medicaid case management for children and adults who have developmental disabilities and will develop services and programs around individuals needs.

Offers a wide range of licensing, records, and informational services to town residents. Licensing and permits include marriage licenses and death certificates. Offers a public notary.Prepares and collects property taxes for residents of the Town of Ashland from January through June 30th. After June 30th all paperwork goes to the Greene County Treasurer's Office.

Provide financial assistance for the express purpose of obtaining temporary shelter, emergency housing or permanent housing for Veterans/Veteran families who are homeless or imminently homeless. Expenses may include rental deposits, rent assistance, utility deposits, moving expenses, expenses associated with non-shelter temporary housing in situations where permanent housing has been secured but is currently unavailable, and other costs the family may incur in the process of acquiring or maintaining housing.

Provides pregnancy testing, ultrasound, vitamin supplements, nutritional evaluation, regular medical check-ups, counseling, baby care instruction, childbirth classes, and other services for low-income mothers-to-be who may not be able to afford good prenatal care. Also, provide postpartum pregnancy care services.

Offers a summer camp program for children and teenagers with many recreational and fun activities, including special interest camps, such as theater, chess or sports camp.

Skilled nursing facility providing amputee care, bariatric care, nutritional counseling, speech and occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, complex medical care, outpatient dialysis, hospice, pain management, respiratory care, short term rehabilitation, total joint replacement program, tracheostomy care and wound care.

Recruits and trains volunteers for a variety of opportunities, such as special events, education and legislative programs.
