Also enforces the state and local building codes, housing standards and ordinances, to the review of applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses, in addition to electrical and plumbing work. The building department accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Serves a hot meal twice a month and food distribution once a month. Food bags are also available in an emergency. Holiday food basket for Thanksgiving and Christmas are raffled off for free at the holiday meals.

Nutrition Education & Food Services runs a free food pantry that provides nutritious food for those living with HIV/AIDS.

Assesses and maintains records of all properties in the Town of Florida.

Offers a six-week summer camp program for children with may creative and fun activities, including sport camps.

Provides assistance with basic needs for individuals or families who have emergency need, including those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. Services provided, as resources permit, include emergency rent payment assistance, local and long distance transit fare, prescription payment assistance, clothing, utility assistance as well as one time assistance for unexpected financial hardship.

Our Roots Program is designed to enhance connections and celebrate tradition among Jewish adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We encourage non-Jewish individuals to attend as well. Through social, cultural, recreational, and educational programs that highlight Jewish holidays and traditions, we help foster a sense of pride and belonging within the Jewish community during this seasonal program. Specializes in home cares services for individuals who have suffered a brain injury, and require short or long-term care.

Provides food for those in emergency situations; not intended to be a weekly supplement to existing food programs being utilized.

Offers a variety of fun programs for children, teens and adults to promote reading, such as reading clubs, book clubs, story hours, and more.

Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of the village residents, while maintaining high quality public services.
