Offers a non-credit-bearing certificate program leading to eligibility for the licensure examination and PN licensure. This program includes classroom theory, theoretical knowledge, and clinical experiences to prepare students to take the NCLEX-PN for licensure as a Practical Nurse and the opportunity to pursue advanced college training. The Eastern Suffolk School of Practical Nursing offers the following programs each September: An 11-month, full-time day program which meets September through August, M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; A 17-month, part-time evening program which meets September through June, M-Th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. AND the following September through March, M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and A part-time day program is available to seniors enrolled in the high schools of the first supervisory district which meets September through June, M-F from 7:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. OR 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Bixhorn Technical Center in Bellport, NY; AND will meet the following September through March, M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Level II post secondary at the Adult Education Center in Brentwood. Offers FREE medical transportation to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Nassau County. Transportation is provided to obtain health care services related directly to HIV/AIDS as in medical care, dental care, mental health, and substance abuse treatment. Offers a certificate program that will prepare you to provide high-quality, evidence-based palliative care to individuals across the adult lifespan and in all settings, as part of an interdisciplinary team. The program is offered exclusively to registered nurses (RNs and APRNs). Participants will earn 42 Continuing Education Units through Adelphi University’s College of Nursing and Public Health, an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Northeast Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This program is especially valuable to registered nurses (RNs) and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) seeking the knowledge and skills to provide medical care and emotional support that manages symptoms, relieves pain and discomfort and improves quality of life for patients with life-threatening or terminal illnesses. The program consists of a series of two-week, online workshops, led by experts in this field. Each workshop will require approximately six hours of work per week, which must be completed during the week of the workshop.
