Offers programs to students ages 11 – 12 in grades 6th – 8th. The Middle School Level Programs include: The Center-Based Functional Academic Skills Program. The Functional Academic Skills Program at Premm Learning Center services students with moderate to severe development disabilities. The primary goal of the program is to maximize each student's potential and to teach skills that will enable them to become as independent as possible within the confines of their disability. Program components include academics with an emphasis on functional skill development, utilizing a modified Common Core Curriculum. Behavior management, independent living and social skills are also addressed. Functional assessments of behavior and behavior intervention plans are implemented for support when needed. The 12:1:4 Program at Premm Learning Center emphasizes a multi-sensory approach to learning. Emphasis is placed on improving cognition, sensory motor skills development and use of adaptive equipment to aid movement and independence. Students placed in the 12:1:4 class component are non-ambulatory and are dependent upon staff for meeting their needs throughout the school day. Classroom instruction is provided with hand over hand assistance. Related services of speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy are provided on a group push-in basis. All students are assessed using the New York State Alternate Assessment. Programs are offered at various locations.

A comprehensive, structured school wide behavior management system is used. This program is for students ages 5-12 in grades K-6th. Student options include: 6:1:1; 8:1:1 and 8:1:1+2. YAI LINK is the intake, information and referral unit for the YAI/NIPD Network. Intake specialists answer questions and make referrals for all YAI/NIPD Network Services, and provide comprehensive info on what is available in Rockland and Hudson Valley region. They also make presentations to parents, professionals and school groups on the range of services available to people with developmental disabilites.

We offer IEP-based speech and language services including evaluations, individual and group therapy and consultation with treatment team members and family. Evaluations include full Augmentative Alternative Communication Evaluations to secure speech generating devices. We serve adult participants though our Article 16 Clinic. Speech-language services are designed to optimize an individuals, ability to communicate and swallow, theropy improving quality of life. SLPs develop and implement treatment to address the presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication problem or related functional issue, Our most common targets are receptive language, expressive language (verbal, SGD, PECS or sign) and pragmatic language skills. The ultimate goal of therapy is to improve and individual's functional outcomes. All services are provided NYS licensed speech-language pathologists who hold certification by the American Speech-Language hearing association.

Offers a residential program for children with autism spectrum disorder ,and/or multiple disabilities to include autism that incorporates Applied Behavioral Analysis teaching methods and positive behavior supports. Programming focuses on life skills recreation and leisure skills, household living; with opportunities for participation in Special Olympics Events. Housing placement is based on age and level of functioning. Family outings day and home visits are encouraged.

Instruction in these classes emphasizes a modified Common Core Curriculum, behavior management, and self-advocacy and social skills, while also providing for the opportunity to be integrated with the mainstream population for special subject classes, lunch, assemblies and academic subjects when appropriate. All students are assessed using the New York State Alternate Assessment. Programs are offered at various locations.

We offer IEP-based Occupational and Physical Therapy services including evaluations, individual and group therapy and consultation with treatment team members and family. Physical Therapists work on addressing balance, gait, motor planning, posture, navigating and accessing school environment, strength, and endurance.

Provides a variety of recreational activities including weekend activities, vacations, overnight trips, and bowling for adults 21 and over, with a documented developmental disability. Promotes socialization and peer relationships while enjoying activities in the community with staff support.

This is an exciting and challenging program designed to build community and strengthen peer leadership skills in teens. Participants attend one of the three, 3-week summer sessions and then attend weekend activities at camp during the school year. Teen's families also participate in the program, during weekends in the spring and fall. Activities include camping, canoeing, high ropes, peer group counseling, learning basic work skills, and local community service projects.

Addresses the daytime schooling and round-the-clock residential needs of children from ages 5-21 who have a wide range of developmental disabilities. This program incorporates high-quality residential and educational services that nurture the growth and development of each child. The children live in one of two accessible homes supported by an interdisciplinary team that monitors their needs, strengths, and progress. Program includes: direct support professionals, 24-hour nursing care, and clinical services.

Provides direct instruction and educational support to our diverse community of students in a cooperative setting through partnership with local school districts. Our dedicated staff utilizes the highest quality methods that maximize educational opportunities for all. Our students strive to reach their full potential, achieve success, and become empowered lifelong learners. The Sequoya High School services students who have mild behavioral and/or intensive counseling and/or mild to moderate learning disabilities. Ninth and tenth grade students receive a full day departmentalized academic program aligned to New York State Regents Curriculum. This same program is offered to eleventh and twelfth grade students with options available for students interested in a half day academic program and a half day Career and Technical Education component. Psychiatric services are also available through collaboration with Sagamore Children's Center. Class size options include 8:1:1 for students ages 14-21 years in grades 9th-12th at the secondary level.
