Cancer support groups include presentations by medical staff as well as a chance to interact with others facing a cancer diagnosis. Our educational and physical activities are designed with patients and their needs as the primary focus. Offers a group exercise program, functional exercises, individual therapy by a licensed physical therapist, and a time of group sharing and socialization. The group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:15 A.M. - 11:15 A.M. Open to people afflicted with Parkinson's disease, their families and those interested in volunteering at the Center are welcome to attend any of the group's regular meetings to observe the Center's program in action. Provides support groups with the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) in partnership with St. Charles Hospital and have extended these services to other locations in Suffolk County. These groups provide educational and emotional support to our patients with Parkinson's disease and their families. The APDA Information and Referral Center also can refer you to exercise programs and connect you with resources and information in your community. Call for detailed information.

The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) features a nationwide system of Chapters and Information and Referral (I&R) Centers. Educational and support resources for individual with Parkinson's and their family members, including educational forums, webinars, video libraries, first responder training, Parkinson Disease training.

Offers an inter-professional, allied healthcare team approach to care, as well as integrated community-based wellness services for patients living with Parkinson's disease. Community-based Wellness Programs are offered at no charge to participants through Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Center for Parkinson's Disease. Programs are currently offered online and in-person, and we continue to welcome new participants. Sample programs include: Chair Yoga; Tai Chi and Qi Gong; Rock Steady Boxing; Be Fit; Movement and Mindfulness for Care Partners; A Matter of Balance; Paint at the Parrish Arts Program; Eat Well with Parkinson’s; Voice Gym; Sing Loud for PD and Dance for Parkinson's.
