Provides linkages for individuals with brain injuries received prior to age 22 and their families with community-based services and supports including understanding and navigating the current system of available services, accessing Medicaid Waiver Programs if qualified, training family members, service providers, and educators to understand the impact of brain injury and brain injury prevention, and making connections to community support groups about living with a brain injury or caring for an individual with a brain injury. Assistance is also provided to understanding the local school system’s special education process. This program is funded by the Office of Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities (OMRDD).

The support group holds their meeting at the North Bellmore Public Library, 1551 Newbridge Rd., No. Bellmore, the second Tuesday of each month from 7pm-9pm.
