Provides year-round athletic training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Competition takes place throughout the county in over 20 different olympic-type sports

Provides employment and job placement services, recreational classes, adapted computer training courses, fitness and exercise classes, social work and benefits counselors as well as volunteer readers for adults who are legally blind or severely visually impaired. Funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health, this program is intended to provide Non-Medicaid Care Management and Care Coordination services to adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI). The primary goal of these services is to help individuals maintain community tenure while improving the overall quality of their recipients' lives. Services include: referral and linkage to medical and mental health services and providers to obtain optimal health and wellness, linkage to housing and other social services, obtaining entitlement benefits and application for Medicaid, on-going assessment and the development of client specific care plan, monitoring established goals, case specific advocacy, and a liaison to the Suffolk County SPOA Unit. The Sayville Project is sponsored by the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University.

Provides a 49-bed supervised living facility which includes personal care aides, housekeeping, case management, recreation, medication management, meals and nutrition education. Serves frail elderly who can no longer live on their own.

Oversees 12 acres of park that include Softball fields, Little League fields, Tennis courts, Playground, All Children's Playground, picnic area, Handball Courts, Basketball Court, Skateboard Park, and Soccer/Football fields. Offers a variety of recreational activities for ages 5 and up. Programs include afterschool tutoring, senior citizens, holiday crafts and summer programs. Facility available for non-profit community groups on a permit basis, and for parties, weddings and non-profit fundraising. Activities and class schedules vary.

Provides support and guidance for bereaved adults through weekly evening discussion groups. Geared to adults who are coping with a loss of another adult, either the death of a family member, friend or parent. Not designed for those suffering loss of a child or adolescent sibling. Provides access to LI Jewish Medical Center, Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, Hillside Hospital and North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset for individuals who are deaf or deaf/blind who use the medical center. Services are also available for deaf family members involved in a patient's health care. Includes sign language interpreter access, TTY access, television captioning, hospital signage, staff education and sign language classes for hospital personnel

Provides linkage to services for adults who are seriously and persistently mentally ill.

Programs include fitness/exercise such as aerobics, body sculpting, ta'i ch'i, yoga, hoop workout, co-ed volleyball. Dance programs include ballroom, country western, swing and Salsa.

Offers swimming, sailing, life saving lessons, arts and crafts, and a sports program to school age children from the Village of Amityville. Beach Complex, located at foot of South Bayview Avenue, at south end of the James A. Caples Memorial Park is facilitated by Recreation Department. Operates tennis clinic offering complete program of eight one-hour lessons for beginners/advanced beginners ages 5 years old to adult. Operates four 12 to 16 hour tennis camps: Junior Development Camp for players with some prior instruction, Advanced Camp for Junior Varsity or Varsity level players, Adult Camp for adults with some prior instruction, and Adult Mini-Camp (shortened schedule). Provides adults with brief, short-term crisis counseling. Meetings are 30-90 minutes and are 12-15 weeks old in duration.

Provides comprehensive treatment for patients of all ages with Lysomal Storage Diseases, such as Gaucher Disease, Pompe Disease, Fabry Disease, and Mucopolysaccharide Storage Diseases. Provides all the components of care for patients and their families from initial consultation, testing and diagnosis to follow-up and treatment as well as genetic counseling, carrier screening and prenatal diagnosis.

For individuals under the age of 18 who are engaged in some pattern of substance misuse. A combination of individual, family, and specialized group counseling is provided to not only treat the substance use behaviors, but any other difficulties that may be affecting the teen. Specialized group services include: Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS), Self-Discovery Group. Treatment for Young Adults and Families is structured for young adults between the ages of 18-25. Support Groups include: Young Adult Support Group, and Bridges. Treatment for Adults includes: SMART Recovery, Mindful Recovery, Connections Recovery Groups, Adult Drug and Alcohol Psycho-Education Series, New Dawn Recovery Group, etc. Treatment for family members includes: Significant Other Group, and Family Support Group.

Provides access to intensive community based health home care management, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), and/or housing services (both residential and case management) for adults with severe mental illness.

Provides comprehensive care to cystic fibrosis patients from infancy to adulthood. Offers a holistic and family focused approach to patient care with an emphasis on promoting normal physical and emotional growth and development. Goals include slowing the progression of the disease, prevention and treatment of complications and helping the patients integrate the disease and strenuous medical treatments into daily life. Provides a home care program. Parent support groups are available on a as needed basis.

Offers comprehensive, evidence-based outpatient treatment for those 18 and older who misuse substances—and we also treat their families. Care is provided by an experienced multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers. ARS also aims to explore possible associated mental health problems and other underlying causes. This program offers medication management along with individual and group psychotherapy. Specializations include a dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) track, a young adult track and a focus on significant others. DWI evaluations are also offered as needed.
