Provides case management for self-sufficiency promotion via help with paperwork, phone calls, appointment scheduling, housing assistance and referrals, family crisis intervention, document interpretation/translation, mediation, and community resource referrals. Employment assessment and placement, applying for social service benefits, and referrals are also offered.

Provides resettlement services such as airport reception, housing assistance, setting up first health appointments, enrolling into eligible public assistance programs, enrolling children into school, enrolling adult into ENL or ESL classes.

If you are ineligible for DSS services, please call Long Island Coalition for the Homeless at (631)464-4314. Provides housing and supportive services for guests experiencing trauma of homelessness. There are two shelters available: one family shelter and one for single men. Social workers are available to assist guests with crisis intervention and prevention. Educational workshops are available for guests on activities of daily living, parenting, employment, nutrition, etc.
