Helps city to remain economically diverse community by providing quality housing that is affordable to moderate income households. By requiring developers to designate a portion of the units in their buildings to tenants whose annual income is between 50% and 110% of the Area Median Income in Westchester County. Holds up-to-date apartment rental listing in the City of White Plains.
The ARHP is open to everyone who meets the income requirements. There is no residency requirement for participation.

Programs include housing rehabilitation for low income Islip homeowners, affordable housing for prospective first time homebuyers, commercial storefront improvements in downtown target areas, and promoting energy efficiency for all Islip homeowners. The entire township of Islip is eligible for most programs, with other programs targeted to downtown target areas in Bay Shore, Brentwood and Central Islip.
