Provides comprehensive treatment, recovery, and support services for individuals and families impacted by mental health and substance use challenges. Services offered include individual and group counseling, medical and psychiatric care, family support coordination, addiction medicine consultations, opiate overdose prevention training, recovery coaching and peer support services, care coordination, community outreach and education, harm reduction services, a therapy dog program, and more. Provides a relapse prevention program to maximize the success of individuals who complete a drug or alcohol treatment program. The program focuses on relapse triggers and healthy coping skills for managing the new challenges in sobriety.

Provides the following services for families and individuals: intake, assessment, and referral services; preventive programs and parenting education workshops; counseling services; drug and alcohol assessment and treatment; crisis intervention; and financial support.

Provides crisis intervention answering services for individuals who abuse alcohol or are at risk of abuse with the aim of defusing the immediate crisis, ensuring the person's safety, and providing information about alternatives the person may explore to begin recovering. Home intervention may be available depending on the circumstances.

Persons who are age 18 years or older may legally obtain and possess hypodermic needles and syringes through ESAP without a medical prescription. Licensed pharmacies, health care facilities, and health care practitioners who can otherwise prescribe hypodermic needles or syringes may register with the New York State Department of Health to sell or furnish up to 10 hypodermic needles or syringes to persons 18 years of age or older at no cost. Used needles or syringes can be safely and anonymously disposed of at dedicated disposal kiosks throughout Erie County; see separate listing, Needle Disposal - ECDOH, for details. The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) is a distribution site for limited free medical supplies, such as syringes, band aids, cotton, alcohol wipes, etc. for Erie County residents.

Offers support to Nassau or Suffolk County residents recovering from substance abuse transitioning from inpatient treatment back home or into a sober living environment. Assists individuals in recognizing relapse triggers, addressing thoughts, beliefs and feelings and establishing a local support system. Develops an individualized relapse prevention plan.

Licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and accredited by the Joint Commission, provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment services to adults and youth 13 and older. We offer a full continuum of outpatient services, including comprehensive assessment and referral; psychiatric consultation and medication management; evidence-based interventions; individual, group, marital and family therapies; medication-assisted treatment (MAT); trauma-informed care; gender-specific treatment; and other supportive services.
