Psychiatric consultation, medication therapy and specialized services for children and trauma survivors are also available. Offers a wide range of services for youth with psychiatric hospitalization and families experiencing problems which interfere with healthy development of their children. Includes treatment for youth through age 21 at risk of suicide, those adjusting to divorce, or other family crisis, eating disorders, social difficulties, unmanageable behavior, depression, or anxiety disorders. The Child Single Point of Access (C-SPOA) is a process that assists children and youth, 0-21, who are struggling emotionally and/or have a mental health diagnosis and their families to access many in-home and community-based services and supports to prevent hospitalizations and out of home placements.

The Intake Department facilitates access to a short-term Crisis Respite intervention for children and their caregivers due to a child’s behavioral health, developmental, or medical crisis or trauma, including acutely challenging emotional or medical crisis in which the child is unable to manage without intensive assistance and support.

*Provides crisis intervention, client/situation stabilization services face-to-face to divert non-lethal individuals from the county's psychiatric emergency departments as well as to find, support and link individuals to mental health services. Some services include:

• Crisis hotline.
• Mental health assessments.
• Crisis de-escalation and de-briefing.
• Linkage and follow-up to services.
• Alerts to identify and assist those at an increased risk.
• Coordination with schools, medical/ mental health providers and other agencies to provide crisis intervention and to help monitor clients who are at risk.

This is program is for children and adolescents who need intensive psychiatric services for emotional or behavioral challenges. The team focuses on helping children and adolescents improve their self-esteem by building on the things they are good at and enjoy.

An evidenced based practice that is a hybrid of mental health clinical services and case management.

This service replaces the Targeted Case Management Services. This agency contracts with Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) and provides linkage and supports to assist individuals with their mental and physical health care needs. OMH funded and contract with Health Home and DOH.

Provides outpatient behavioral health services to adults 18 years and older. Serves children under 18 ONLY if they are experiencing first episode psychosis. Treatment types include individual and group therapy. Services are provided by psychiatrists, nurses, and licensed clinical staff. Offers the NAVIGATE Program, a specialized evidence-based program for individuals experiencing first episode psychosis. Also offers a behavioral health walk-in clinic (The Help Center) that does not require an appointment. The Help Center offers immediate support for individuals who may be experiencing a crisis and/or are in need of behavioral health services and linkage to a community provider. The Help Center is an alternative to ECMC's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) for those who are NOT experiencing suicidal thoughts/behaviors.

Offers training programs for teens and adults focused on youth, teens and adults. A five-step action plan is available to help an adolescent showing signs and symptoms of a mental health concern or in an emotional crisis. Services include an eight-hour training class and certification.

Provides mental health assessments/crisis intervention to individuals struggling with emotional or mental difficulties, including assisting DSS or family court with home assessments and therapeutic intervention for adoption and foster care families and for on matters involving custody, visitation, child abuse/neglect, and PINS (Persons In Need of Supervision).

SPOA is a uniform referral process which assists the referring party to determine the appropriate level of care coordination services. After the referral is made it is assessed and a determination is made as to the acceptance of the initial referral or referral to another program which may better meet the needs of the individual. Levels of care include: transition case management, care coordination, assertive community treatment, and assisted outpatient treatment.
