Recruits, screens, trains and supports community members who are matched with identified at-risk youth for at least one year. Program participants make a significant commitment of time and energy to develop relationships devoted to personal, academic or career development, and social, athletic or artistic growth. Counselors taught income tax preparation and computer operation by IRS-trained AARP Tax-Aide volunteer instructors. Commitment runs from Feb 1st to April 13th. Volunteers with knowledge of computers and 1040 Tax Forms do both federal and state income taxes. Classes for volunteers begin on Jan 3rd.

Offers a range of services to emotionally and physically injured crime victims in Albany County. Services are available to anyone of any age who has experienced a sexual assault or other interpersonal crime at any time in his or her life, or who has been affected by someone else's crime. Provides advocacy with the criminal justice system and law enforcement agencies, confidential crisis intervention counseling and individual, family, and group therapy, assistance with filing New York State Office of Victim Services claims, and 24 hour confidential crisis hotline including a text chat feature. Volunteers are needed to work on the sexual assault hotline, perform clerical duties, and act as court advocates.

Capstone is always recruiting new volunteers to come and share their talents with the residents of our facility.
