St. Rose of Lima's Parish Social Ministry offers many groups geared toward support and socialization, such as a food pantry, bereavement groups, Meals on Wheels, Respect Life, etc.

Every December, we gift local Ulster County children between the ages of newborn – 16 years old with a package containing toys, board games, books, stocking stuffers, and winter weather clothing.

Provides the children of low-income individuals or families from Ulster County a Christmas gift (toys, clothing, books, and stocking stuffers). Donations accepted.

This program provides and coordinates toy donations between the community and local social service agencies. During the holiday season, there is an ability to request for a toy by visiting the website.

As a Parish Outreach Center, provides a variety of concrete emergency services, such as food, clothing, limited financial aid or holiday assistance, to anyone living within parish boundaries(Sound Beach, Miller Place, Mount Sinai). Check with parish coordinator for details. There is a blessing box located south west of parish outreach which has nonperishable food available at all times.

Provides food to those in need in the Westbury community, as well as to registered parishioners.

Offers support services to community members in financial crisis, including provision of food, pet food, clothing, household items, medical equipment exchange, limited prescription assistance, and medical transportation assistance. Other services include a monthly Mobile Food Pantry (open to anyone), budgeting assistance/financial education, and more. Will work to meet other needs where support is not available in the community. Provides backpacks filled with school supplies each year to low income children, K-6th grade, while supplies last. The Angel Action Holiday Christmas Program provides clothing and gifts for children of all ages through a shopping event open to parents and grandparents.

Provides groceries to income qualified individuals and families. Emergency supplies are always available to anyone, regardless of income, by appointment. Distributes holiday food baskets and gifts to eligible individuals and families.* Christmas 2024, call ahead for availability.

Our Giving Tree, displayed in the front entrance of our Massapequa office, is maintained through donations honoring those who have made a difference in our community and the lives of others.

Food is donated by the two area Food Banks, Island Harvest and Long Island Cares, as well as from parishioners and community groups such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Rotary Club of the Ronkonkomas.

Offers a food pantry (Peggy's Pantry) to those in need in the community. In addition to food, outreach extends to emergency requests for help with fuel, electricity, medical bills and more. A county shelter is also available for homeless families in the area. Other outreach includes: Adopt a Student, which supplies students with school supplies every August, Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas gift programs, Christmas Baskets, Linus ministries (provides blankets to those who are ill or homebound), And Easter baskets for children as well as Easter meal baskets.

Member of the WNY Holiday Partnership. Provides toys and gifts to parents and guardians to give their kids for the winter holidays. Gifts are pre-bagged.

Works with the US Marine Corps Reserves to organize the Toys for Tots Campaign in Chautauqua County to provide toys for low income families with children ages 0-17 in need of assistance during the holiday season. Individuals and families can apply to receive toys for their own family, while agencies and groups can apply to pick up toys for families they serve.
