Provides educational programs on child rearing, nutrition, child abuse, etc. to help educate and inform parents. Encourages parent involvement as volunteers on committees and in classrooms. Provides integrated, supportive housing for people with disabilities who are facing homelessness. Apartments are available for Medicaid recipients 55 and older who require assistance with activities of daily living; individuals who are 18 and older with eligibility for services through the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD); and military veterans with disabilities. Staff is located on site who advocate for residents; connect them to services available in the community; provide independent living skills training, and facilitate social and recreational opportunities.

This program help provide the 46 school-based Family Resource Center coordinators in professional development, training, and technical assistance. The centers themselves are places for families to participate in programs, get to know other parents and children, find support and information, and access be linked to a school, community, and government resources. FRC work in the following areas: early childhood development, family and community engagement, student development, and family support.

Families Together provide information, peer support, recreation, referrals and linkages to services, support items, and advocacy for children, youth and families. A range of recreational activities for youth, peer-led support groups and peer self advocacy training and educational and vocational development are offered. There are support groups for parents of children with social, emotional, or behavioral concerns and a social worker will work with families and staff to help identify social, emotional or behavioral challenges at an earlier age through assessment, brief support/therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

The Nanuet Family Resource Center runs several school age care programs within the district. At Miller School and Highview there is a before school and after school program for the students that attend school in each building.
