The program is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services through the New York State Office for the Aging and the Suffolk County Office for the Aging.

Provides a free publication (available in various languages) featuring smart ways to make a home comfortable, safe and a great fit for older adults. 

Services including case management, information and referral, counseling, support groups, training and respite have been developed under Title III-E of the Older Americans Act. This program helps sustain family caregivers in their efforts to care for an older relative who has a chronic illness or disability. The Office for the Aging coordinates a variety of services. These services are designed to complement, not replace, family care. Priority is given to caregivers 60 years and older with the greatest social and economic need. NAMI Basics is a free, six-session education program for parents, caregivers and other family who provide care for youth aged 22 or younger who are experiencing mental health symptoms. All classes and materials are offered free of charge.
