Provides GED classes and paid work experience for youth ages 14-21.

SWEET is a six week employment-based program for youth. The 2023 program runs from July 10, 2023 through August 18, 2023. Participants will work up to 30 hours per week at local schools and businesses and earn $14.50 per hour.

This program is for the Peekskill youth to provide employment and training. The employment experience provides the skills and training necessary for these young adults ages 14 to 20 to succeed in today's job market.

Programs aim to unite community resources, aid disadvantaged youth, and prevent drug abuse. YES program is an employment program for teens/young adults. Resident ID cards issued annually. Offers the opportunity for youth to learn and refine valuable workplace skills by participating in subsidized work experience opportunities and work readiness workshops for approximately 20-25 hours per week from July to mid-August.

A program which aims to encourage youth to engage in healthy behaviors early in life that reduce preventable chronic diseases, unwanted pregnancy and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. The youth participate in workshops and various activities, community service projects which help to build leadership skills and to help build up their community.

The Summer Youth Employment Program is the first step in ensuring young people have the tools, skills, and work experiences necessary to achieve and maintain successful employment in our community. The Port Chester Youth Bureau will provide local at-risk youth, who are between the ages of 14 and 20, with meaningful summer employment with the Village of Port Chester.

Provides unemployed young adults, ages 18-24, the opportunity to transform their lives and roles in society. Enables participants to continue their education, learn job skills and serve their communities by building green, energy efficient and affordable housing. Other career certifications offered include Certified Nursing Assistant, Early Child Care, Home Health Aide, Dietary Aide, Medical Billing and Coding, Mechanics Helper and Manufacturing. YouthBuild curriculum integrates academics with life skills. Students spend 6-12 months dividing their time between a housing construction site and an education facility which provides TASC (formerly GED) education, job training, career advancement, leadership development, counseling and graduate support.

Provides a school-based program aimed at assisting youth, ages 14-17, to complete the National Work Readiness Credential and participate in an eight week paid internship. Offers workshops geared toward wellness, work readiness and employment seeking strategies. Program held at South Country, Wyandanch, Brentwood, Central Islip School Districts high schools. Offers paid internships and college credit(s) working in the Butler Special Needs Center. Program provides the opportunity to work with the special needs populations. Training and education provided at no cost.

Under grants from Suffolk County Department of Labor and United Way, will provide paid employment and job training opportunities to youth ages 16 - 20. In partnership with the Urban League, will provide paid employment and on the job training opportunities for adults who are eligible to work under Title V of the Older Americans Act

Youth are exposed to an enriching learning environment that includes academic development, career/vocational focus, and exploration/recreational activities.
