Job Search Assistance: Access to computer labs, copy service, free mailing, current job listings, labor market information, job fairs, job clubs, and "Meet the Employers" on-site career fairs, where employers are on-site to recruit and interview job seekers. Career Advancement and Training Grants: Connected education, training programs, and support services that enable individuals to secure a job or advance in an in-demand industry or occupation. Training grants available for in-demand occupations such as Nursing, HVAC, Machining, CDL, Mechanics, Accounting, and over 50 additional occupations. Job Training: High school equivalency diploma classes, soft skills classes, and training on computer and internet use, keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Word. Provides emergency food, clothing, and transitional housing to homeless women and children in Nassau County. Provides support counseling, advocacy and networking with multiple agencies including assistance with entry/re-entry into the job market. Additional services include case management and crisis intervention. Seeks to educate and involve the community in a concerted effort to prevent homelessness.
