We provide Medicaid and Medicare (A,B,C,D) benefits counseling, EPIC, Lifeline telephone discount, low income subsidy, part D prescription benefits, Medicare Supplemental insurance, Employer insurance benefits, Veterans benefits, Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA), Medicare Savings Program, and more.

Helps New Yorkers resolve health care disputes and to assist in getting the medical care they deserve.

Provides information, training and assistance to older residents and their caregivers concerning health insurance information, rights and responsibilities and other insurance options available.

Provides education and information about health insurance options available through the New York State Health Marketplace as well as enrollment assistance.

This services provides health insurance counseling and assistance filling out forms, answering questions regarding Medicare, Medicare part D, Medicaid, health insurance issues, Prescription cards, etc. Also offers financial assistance with gas, electric or fuel oil bills for older adults who may be struggling.

The Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance program (HIICAP) allows seniors access to counselors who provide information regarding health insurance related issues.

Provides support, assistance and advocacy for individuals and families needing help with issues relating to disabilities.

SAIL provides information and assistance concerning long term care planning for individuals with disabilities, family members, and other interested parties. Information and assistance is provided for establishing Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, Supplemental Needs Trusts, and accessing long term care services. SAIL provides information and assistance to persons with disabilities, family members, and other interested parties concerning Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care insurance. The center also provides insurance counseling and advisement for choosing the most appropriate coverage, as well as information concerning co-insurance and gap policies.

Provides information, referral, advocacy, insurance counseling, and general assistance for citizens 60 years old or older and their families.

Medicaid provides medical assistance for those families and individuals whose medical expenses exceed their income. DSS processes applications for a variety of health insurance programs.

Provides help navigating the health insurance marketplace including help in understanding new health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), available Qualified Health Plans (QHP), and help with enrollment into the marketplace. Also helps in enrolling eligible children, families and individuals in low or no-cost state health insurance plans including Medicaid and Child Health Plus.

Administers Medicaid program to assist eligible individuals in our community in obtaining necessary and appropriate medical care through programs such as Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Medicaid Social Security Income (SSI), Personal Care Supports including nursing and personal care aids, managed care insurance, and long-term care supports, among others. Child/Teen Health Program is a preventive health program which provides continuing medical care to your children. Also provides for burial when a Temporary Assistance recipient or other indigent person dies leaving no funds or insurance sufficient to pay the cost and there are no relatives, friends or other persons liable or willing to take responsibility for the burial expense. Office serves as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Cooling Center is open before going there.

Provides assistance enrolling eligible children, families and individuals in low or no-cost state health insurance plans including Medicaid and Child Health Plus. Assists in enrollment with small business health insurance. Additional help is provided navigating the health insurance marketplace for people not eligible for state health insurance options.

Helps individuals and families to check their eligibility for health insurance through the health insurance marketplace and sign up for health care programs such as the Essential Plan, Medicaid and Child Health Plus. The annual open enrollment period begins in Fall for coverage effective the following year. Individuals and families can enroll in coverage after the open enrollment period ends if they qualify for a special enrollment period by experiencing a qualifying life event, such as getting married or having a child. Individuals eligible for the Essential Plan, Medicaid or Child Health Plus and American Indians/Alaskan Natives can enroll at any time during the year. Small businesses may enroll at any time during the year.

Provides coordination of services through linkage and referral to supports and services for children 3+ yrs through adults with a diagnosis confirmed by DDRO (Developmental Disabilities Regional Office) to allow them to live as independently and productively as possible.

Provides assistance in understanding Medicare, Medigap, policies and planning, private insurance, retiree and employer insurance, EPIC, Medicare Part D, the Medicare Savings Program and basic Medicaid eligibility.
