A support group for anyone with a prostate problem and their family members. The objective is to provide a forum through which participants can share their experiences and discuss matters of common interest relating to prostate problems. Survivors assist newly diagnosed patients with information on treatment choices. Meetings are held at St. Joseph's Hospital in Cheektowaga on the third Tuesday of each month. Offers a one week day camp program for children, ages 5-15, with type 1 Diabetes. Activities include swimming, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor sports and music. Features low staff to participant ratios, with a medical staff on site and trained counselors (many who have diabetes). Each camper can invite one guest who doesn't have diabetes to attend. Offers free lectures on health topics to community members with the objective of educating, raising awareness, improving understanding of risk factors, diagnostic procedures and treatment. Topics may include cancer, diabetes, nutrition, stroke, cardiology and glaucoma. Family Planning Benefit Program is a direct Medicaid public health insurance program for individuals and families who need family planning services, with no premiums or co-pays for services. Program is intended to increase access to confidential family planning services and to enable individuals of any age and sex to prevent or reduce the incidence of unintended pregnancies.
