The Jewish Genetic Disease Program provides education, genetic screening, genetic counseling and clinical services for individuals or families commonly affected by these diseases. Fanconi Anemia (Type C), Tay-Sachs Disease, Canavan Diseases, Niemann-Pick Disease, Bloom Syndrome,Mucolipodosis (Type lV), Gaucher Disease (Type l), Familial Dysautonomia and Cystic Fibrosis are among the many genetic diseases that have been tested.

Child Support Services Unit provides services to locate absent non-custodial parents, establish paternity, establish court ordered child support, and enforce orders of child support. Responsible for prosecuting in Family Court all cases involving child abuse, child neglect, termination of parental rights, and court ordered support child. Legal Unit represents the Department during Fair Hearings involving reports from the State Central Registry. Also handles Adult Protective Services that may seek court orders for entry into a home, short term intervention orders and establishment of financial and/or personal guardianship for incapacitated adults. Program Integrity Unit investigates and prosecutes welfare fraud; operates collection process for money owed to DSS. Child/Teen Health Program is a preventive health program which provides continuing medical care to your children.

Provides psychiatric medication management for ages 5-100. Genetic testing available to find the right medication metabolized. Participants cannot have a criminal history, violent history or sex addiction.

Provides comprehensive treatment for patients of all ages with Lysomal Storage Diseases, such as Gaucher Disease, Pompe Disease, Fabry Disease, and Mucopolysaccharide Storage Diseases. Provides all the components of care for patients and their families from initial consultation, testing and diagnosis to follow-up and treatment as well as genetic counseling, carrier screening and prenatal diagnosis.

Provides parents planning a pregnancy or already pregnant with information about their genetic history and how it affects their children. Offers additional screening or diagnostic testing as determined by screening results.

Offers assistance to custodial parents in obtaining court ordered child and health support for their dependent children as well as establishing paternity. Individuals who pay and/or receive child support payments that are collected through a child support unit can call and request to have their local Child Support Representative contact them.

Offers genetic testing and counseling to individuals who may be concerned about disease based on family history or may be at high risk, also provides paternity screening.

Responsible for the establishment and enforcement of child support orders; paternity establishment; location of absent parents for child support purposes; collection and disbursement of child support, including medical insurance coverage and day care support. Obtains support from out of state respondents. Limited help available for spousal only support. Can provide legal representation in family court for non-Public Assistance clients, if requested by client.
