Offers a number of professional development programs for teachers, as well as for teacher candidates. Mandatory workshops offered include: School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop; Training in the Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect and Dignity For All Students (DASA) Workshop. Numerous online professional development graduate courses, certificates and summer institutes for teachers are offered. Features bike education and rides for youth aged 11-14. The program includes 6 sessions on Saturdays from 9am to Noon, in May and June. Each session will feature on- and off- the bike instruction and a bike ride. The participants will receive a water bottle, patch kit, safety light, T-shirt and bike multi-tool. Provides inspection, installation and education on child car safety seats for parents, grandparents and guardians.

Works cooperatively with the local community to coordinate, plan, and provide programs and services that enhance and develop the lives of the young people in the community. Offers a variety of programming, such as:Toddler Tennis: Children ages 4 to 6 years for an introduction to tennis; equipment is provided. Babysitting Certification: Offers a 8 hour course for youth ages 11 to 15 years. Course covers interviewing, facts about child growth and development, as well as CPS and safety planning.

The Right Way program provides drug and alcohol assessments when the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Drug and Alcohol Regulations are violated. In addition, a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) conducts Reasonable Suspicion Training for supervisors. D.O.T. consultations are available upon request. The Right Way is available to non-D.O.T. companies to meet their drug and alcohol policy needs.

Provides a free publication (available in various languages) featuring smart ways to make a home comfortable, safe and a great fit for older adults. 

Provides a variety of services related to the state's Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the State Energy Conservation Construction Code. In close coordination with community officials, DCEA oversees the enforcement practices of local governments in matters pertaining to building construction, fire prevention and energy conservation. Division staff also provides technical and educational assistance to local jurisdictions, administers variances, and serves as secretariat to the State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council.

Teaches students how to look for warning signs, signals, and threats, especially in social media, of an individual who may be a threat to themselves or others and to say something to a trusted adult to get help. We want to teach students to understand and recognize warning signs and threats, how to act immediately, take it seriously, understand strategies to take action, and overcome potential barriers to being an “upstander” rather than a “bystander." Offers child seat safety inspections and installations, along with other child passenger safety information.

Registers motor vehicles, motorboats, snowmobiles, and all-terrain vehicles. Licenses drivers, dealers, repair shops, inspection stations and driving schools, approves driver training programs and establishes uniformity in traffic regulations. Provides photo non-driver identification cards for all ages.

The County Emergency Management Office coordinates all planning, preparedness, response and recovery efforts in the case of an emergency or disaster. They also administer various federal and state grants in the areas of emergency response.
