Drop-in center for homeless vets. Provides linkage with VA services and assistance with finding housing. Works with homeless and at-risk veterans to help them overcome the barriers that may prevent them from receiving or benefiting from health services. Veterans have access to a shower in the Drop-in Center. Also offers outreach to homeless veterans in shelters, soup kitchens, and on the streets. Outreach workers help establish eligibility for VA medical service and pension, develop appropriate treatment plans, and screen for community placement. Homeless veterans eligible for VA Healthcare may call for availability and screening for VA funded emergency shelter, transitional housing, and HUD section 8 voucher program. Provide assistance for veterans to understand the eligibility criteria and benefits provided by the program, obtaining full benefits and services to which they are entitled, along with the payment process and the rights of beneficiaries. Also helps them complete benefits application forms, and if needed negotiate on their behalf with U.S. Veteran's Administration or Veteran Affairs.

Assists veterans seeking eligible benefits from the US Veterans Administration (VA). An attorney will help determine eligibility and assists with and submits necessary applications and pursues necessary appeals.

Angels for Warriors connects veterans with the resources they have earned from their service to our country. We assist Veteran's transition to permanent housing, register them for veteran benefits and advocate on the veteran's behalf for medical care.

Provides wrap around services and temporary financial assistance(TFA). The services offered include, but are not limited to, emergency housing referrals, assistance searching for housing, connection to local, state and federal benefits, employment and training services, financial literacy services, budget advisory, rental and arrears assistance, utility arrears, security deposits, storage and moving costs, temporary financial assistance and connection to child care providers.

Provides a food pantry for Veterans, the Military and their families, and families in need. LI Cares hosts Military Appreciation Tuesdays in Huntington Station, Lindenhurst, and Freeport which gives veterans and their families access to food, personal care items, household products, pet food, and school supplies. Also veterans are provided with information and resources pertaining to veteran special benefits. LI Cares also operates a Mobile Pantry which delivers nutritious groceries to homebound, disabled veterans unable to access their local pantries.

Membership is restricted to the combat wounded, but MOPH provides support to all veterans and their dependents throughout the United States. They help to create jobs, offer scholarships, and maintain continuous liaison with Congress on issues related to veterans. Meetings held 3rd Thursday of month at 8pm.

Provides quality service and advocacy for New York State veterans, armed forces members, their dependents and survivors, ensuring they receive benefits granted by law for their service to New York and the nation. Some of the services provided include: Career Assessment, Referral to Jobs, Contacting Employers on your behalf, Resume preparation assistance, Information on Federal, State and Local Civil Service Opportunities, Job Search Planning, Labor Market Information, Information on direct appointment to Civil Service positions and Referral to other agencies that provide services to veterans. Also available are representatives in your area specifically trained to assist veterans in transitioning from the military, finding a new job or starting a new career.
