Information for eligible veterans, widows and dependents for a variety of benefit programs relating to issues such as health, education, financial assistance and disability-related issues.

Drop-in center for homeless vets. Provides linkage with VA services and assistance with finding housing. Works with homeless and at-risk veterans to help them overcome the barriers that may prevent them from receiving or benefiting from health services. Veterans have access to a shower in the Drop-in Center. Also offers outreach to homeless veterans in shelters, soup kitchens, and on the streets. Outreach workers help establish eligibility for VA medical service and pension, develop appropriate treatment plans, and screen for community placement. Homeless veterans eligible for VA Healthcare may call for availability and screening for VA funded emergency shelter, transitional housing, and HUD section 8 voucher program. Provides wrap around services and temporary financial assistance(TFA). The services offered include, but are not limited to, emergency housing referrals, assistance searching for housing, connection to local, state and federal benefits, employment and training services, financial literacy services, budget advisory, rental and arrears assistance, utility arrears, security deposits, storage and moving costs, temporary financial assistance and connection to child care providers.

Provides a food pantry for Veterans, the Military and their families, and families in need. LI Cares hosts Military Appreciation Tuesdays in Huntington Station, Lindenhurst, and Freeport which gives veterans and their families access to food, personal care items, household products, pet food, and school supplies. Also veterans are provided with information and resources pertaining to veteran special benefits. LI Cares also operates a Mobile Pantry which delivers nutritious groceries to homebound, disabled veterans unable to access their local pantries.

Membership is restricted to the combat wounded, but MOPH provides support to all veterans and their dependents throughout the United States. They help to create jobs, offer scholarships, and maintain continuous liaison with Congress on issues related to veterans. Meetings held 3rd Thursday of month at 8pm.

Provides services to job seekers and businesses at no cost to either the job seeker or business, either in-person or remotely / virtually. Agency offers services for youth, young adults, and adults, including dislocated workers, Trade Act affected workers, unemployed and underemployed job seekers.
