Provides a service, in collaboration with 2 other agencies (My Sisters' Place and Westchester Hispanic Coalition) to offer free legal services for poverty level residents or those who are victims of domestic violence for consumer disputes, housing, education, benefits, domestic violence, orders of protection, custody, child support, family law, including citizenship applications, work authorizations or other immigration issues.

Assistance with understanding and assessing available resources.

Provides prescreening, assistance filling out applications, and assistance obtaining necessary documentation for food stamp benefits.

Provides support, assistance and advocacy for individuals and families needing help with issues relating to disabilities.

Provides assistance for individuals to access public assistance benefits, by facilitating the application procedures, aid in completing all DSS files/paperwork and to utilize the resources and services they may be entitled. Also aids individuals to navigate Social Security by assisting with access to benefits, complete applications, provide referrals, and give any assistance when necessary.

Provides mobile services to low and moderate income residents, residing in Northeast Dutchess, and helps them deal with one-time crisis or ongoing issues. Services include food and health services, medical prescriptions, heating assistance, emergency financial aid and more.

Work with veterans to support positive environment. Provide emotional support, information and guidance for veterans who have emotional problems including post traumatic stress disorder relating to experiences in the service, or who are having other difficulties adjusting to their civilian status. Assists in finding proper avenues for health education and housing. Peer to peer group meetings to encourage outreach and advocacy. Offers dog training for veterans with PTSD.

Provides support, assistance and advocacy for individuals and families needing help with issues relating to disabilities.

Provides emergency food, advocacy, referrals, limited financial assistance, immigration counseling, employment counseling, free educational seminars, thrift shop and transportation.

Provides information, referral, advocacy, insurance counseling, and general assistance for citizens 60 years old or older and their families.

A not-for-profit public interest firm providing free legal services to low-income individuals and families in Western New York. NLS aims to create the greatest access to the justice system for low-income individuals and those living with disabilities to pursue goals that will increase both the stability and the quality of their lives. Assist with and answer questions about applying for benefits: SSI, SSDI, food stamps, Medicaid, HUD, public assistance.

Westchester’s Kinship Unit helps grandparents, relatives, or non-biological parents raising children navigate civil legal issues. These include, but are not limited to custody, guardianship, housing, consumer debt, public benefits, education, and advance planning. Assisting Kinship Families with civil legal issues ensures stability for children being raised by non-biological parents.

Provides supportive services for people returning from jail or prison who have chronic health problems, such as AIDS/HIV, addiction or other infectious diseases. Offers health education, case management, on-site medical testing, and offering assistance in finding other benefits, housing and health care.

Provides seniors with assistance with questions of social security, medical information, or other benefits-related issues. Also offers information of resources in the community for specific needs.

Offers a variety of services for the seniors in the local community who need help with benefit applications, advocacy for different issues, outreach to help seniors who are homebound and need help with various tasks. Also provides assistance to grandparents who are raising their grandchildren, such as counseling, advocacy and with school supplies, clothing, and more.

Provides free and confidential prescreening by phone or at various agencies regarding eligibility for SNAP. Assists member programs with providing referrals to SNAP and other government entitlement programs.

Offers support services for grandparents or other relatives who are raising a grandchild(ren), or other related children.

Provides assistance to local residents in various ways, with individual advocacy, eviction issues, applying for benefits, or offering information or referrals to services and resources within the community.

Offers a full range of informational services which is provided by the Information, Resource, and Referral Services Unit to all residents of Nassau County; including immediate crisis and emergency intervention. That includes: Child or elder abuse; Domestic violence; Employment; Food stamps; Fuel services; Homelessness and Medicaid. Staff is available by phone Mondays to Fridays during the hours of 9am to 4:45pm. Walk-ins are welcome Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 4pm. Emergency services are available at night from 6 pm to 8 am on weekdays, and on weekends and holidays by calling 516-573-8626 and provide services. A caseworker will be ready to assist you, and confidentiality is assured and protected. Call for detailed information.

Help individuals with the food stamp (SNAP) application process and eligibility qualifications.

Offers Legal counseling for immigrants, rent payment assistance, and case management for people needing assistance in navigating services for themselves and their families. Toy donation programs available for eligible children during December.

Provides free and confidential one-to-one counseling and access for seniors to identify benefits and other needed services, such as medicare, health and prescription, food stamps, HEAP, home repair, tax relief programs, and other senior-based services.
