Provides housing and support services for eligible low-income Veteran families who are homeless, or are about to be homeless. Supportive services include: personal financial planning and credit counseling, income support services, legal services, housing counseling, healthcare navigation, vocational and rehabilitation services throughout the New York State Department of Labor, employment training assistance through the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center, case management services, peer support/outreach services through Suffolk County United Veterans, assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits through Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency, other supportive services/temporary financial assistance (rental assistance, utility-fee payment, security or utility deposit, moving cost, emergency housing stability, child care financial assistance, transportation).

Angels for Warriors connects veterans with pro-bono attorneys for legal assistance when needed.

Provides free legal assistance to veterans and their families. The clinic gives priority to matters that will prevent or relieve homelessness or remove barriers to the reintegration of veterans into civilian life. Typical matters handled in the clinic include: Landlord-tenant/eviction; Debt relief/collection; Bankruptcy; Mortgage Foreclosure; Driver’s license restoration; Child support modification; Unemployment insurance; Warrants and fines; Income tax; Benefits applications and appeals and Discharge upgrades. All representation is free of charge and strictly confidential. Representation is provided by upper-level law students, working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. However, the clinics have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Clinic staff members meet with potential clients by appointment only. Assists veterans seeking eligible benefits from the US Veterans Administration (VA). An attorney will help determine eligibility and assists with and submits necessary applications and pursues necessary appeals.
