A not-for-profit public interest firm providing free legal services to low-income individuals and families in Western New York. NLS aims to create the greatest access to the justice system for low-income individuals and those living with disabilities to pursue goals that will increase both the stability and the quality of their lives. Provides emergency financial assistance in the form of one month's back rent and/or security to eligible clients. Budget counseling is also available to interested applicants.

Classes help participants learn more about locating community food assistance programs, developing spending plans, food shopping strategies and unit pricing, saving money away from home, container gardening and much more!

Free energy efficiency and financial management workshops are held throughout the service territories. These Workshops are conducted by Cornell Cooperative Extension as part of the Empower New York Program with funding from NYSERDA.

Financial education and workforce development to empower Black Long Islanders by addressing systemic economic disparities. Services include: Financial Coaching and Wealth Building Support (short and long-term savings planning, retirement and investment education, debt reduction and credit improvement strategies), Homeownership and Asset Building (guidance on qualifying for home loans and navigating the home-buying process (budgeting and savings plans to prepare for homeownership, support in overcoming historical housing discrimination barriers), Workforce and Career Development (job readiness training, interview preparation, and career advancement coaching, strategies for income growth and career mobility, employer partnerships to connect participants with higher-paying opportunities), Personalized Financial Planning (each participant receives a customized plan tailored to their unique financial situration and goals, one-on-one financial coaching sessions ensure ongoing support and guidance).

• Chronic disease management services (HIV/AIDS, diabetes, asthma, obesity, etc.)
• Financial counseling services

Offers a wide range of financial services to New York State residents. Provides foreclosure assistance including help obtaining loan modifications and information on available federal programs. Assists Holocaust victims and their heirs in the recovery of stolen art, monetary assets deposited in banks and insurance monies owed to beneficiaries. Offers consumers assistance in filing complaints about lender banks, other financial institutions and insurance companies. Provides disaster assistance related to insurance and financial services.

Nutrition education, food safety education, financial management, food shopping and dietary planning available to food stamp eligible individuals and families.

Provides legal assistance to persons who are experiencing consumer debt problems, especially in the matters of medical and credit card debt. Services may include litigation defense representation, phone advice, and/or referral for further services including bankruptcy where appropriate.

Offers support services to community members in financial crisis, including provision of food, pet food, clothing, household items, medical equipment exchange, limited prescription assistance, and medical transportation assistance. Other services include a monthly Mobile Food Pantry (open to anyone), budgeting assistance/financial education, and more. Will work to meet other needs where support is not available in the community. Provides backpacks filled with school supplies each year to low income children, K-6th grade, while supplies last. Supplies are given out at the Cornerstone Building located at 204 North Main Street in Perry, NY; call 585-237-2600 for questions. Donations accepted and volunteer opportunities available. The Angel Action Holiday Christmas Program provides clothing and gifts for children of all ages through a shopping event open to parents and grandparents.

Money Management International are specialists in the areas of money management, credit cards, budgeting, and debt reduction. We offer credit counseling over the telephone, online, and face-to-face at one of our 50+ branches across the nation.

Provides on-site emergency food pantry for residents of specific streets in the City of North Tonawanda (call for details) and information on meal planning and budgeting. Provides rent, mortgage, and utility payment assistance to low income individuals and families when funds are available; funds are currently unavailable. Fair Housing Advocacy Program assists individuals who feel they are victims of discrimination when purchasing or renting a home. Offers information, assessment, and referral to the appropriate federal, state, or local human rights agency or court. Provides housing location services and landlord/tenant advocacy. Individual advocacy, information and referral, application assistance, asset management, and budget counseling are also available.

Provides transitioning veterans regular one-on-one sessions with a financial coach in order to link their goals and values to their financial dreams, create an action plan and track progress towards the goals mutually set by them. Phone sessions are available. Funded by The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Call for more information.

The Debt Management Program (DMP) gives participants a personalized, structured, repayment plan to address each creditors requirements. Unlike a bankruptcy or debt settlement, clients repay 100% of the original debt over several years.

Course offerings include: Financial Planning Overview; Intermediate Quickbooks; Introduction to Quickbooks; Social Security Optimization and Stocks, Bonds and Investing. Courses vary each semester and are held at various locations. Call for detailed information.

People suffering under the burden of student loans learn about the various payment plans, deferment programs and special options available. We provide a complete financial analysis to determine which program best suits the borrower.

ACS provides classes on budget development & record keeping, consumer rights and obligations, complaint resolution, and individual budget and money management counseling.

Provides personalized financial management and budgeting education classes to assist families in asset building and work towards financial independence. Programming includes linkages to community resources, creating a budget, meal planning and grocery shopping, and home energy savings tips.

Provides financial education, counseling and ongoing support to consumers nationwide, helping them to develop the tools they need to better manage their debt. Counselors offer individual financial analysis, budget counseling, financial goals and guidance. Also offers a debt management program including lower interest rates and payments on credit cards. Bankruptcy and housing counseling are also available.

Focuses on helping individuals gain assets and become self-sufficient, improving the health and safety and energy efficiency measures in their home, and helping to develop and improve local businesses. Directly offers opportunities for home ownership and education, energy conservation through weatherization assessment, and renovation services. Also offers financial services such as budgeting along with homeownership, credit, bankruptcy, and foreclosure counseling.
