A variety of volunteer opportunities exist including food rescue volunteers who assist in the delivery of surplus food from commercial food donors to member agencies, special events volunteers, office assistants, and volunteers to help with educational and community programs, including Speakers' Bureau. Special volunteer projects are available for groups, students, adults, and corporate employees.

Sponsors chapters that share free vegetarian food, clothing, books, school supplies and other essentials at weekly "Food Shares". Accepts donations of vegetarian produce, clothing and material goods.
